1. Arizona (10-0) - This one is easy. Arizona is arguably the best team in the country and ranked number 1. This is not just an easy pre-season schedule. They have a victory over # 6 Duke and a talented roster led by Nick Johnson, Brandon Ashley and Aaron Gordon.
2. Oregon (8-0) - Ranked 15 by ESPN the ducks return a talented roster and great coach. The boast of victory of Georgetown. Led by transfers Junior Joseph Young and Senior Mike Moser, experience should be a big factor for this team all year.
3. Colorado (9-1) - Coming off their exciting buzzer beater victory over Kansas, who had beat them 19 times in a row. Coach Tad Boyle has this team rolling again. The Buffaloes will be looking to return to the NCAA for the third straight year.
4. UCLA (8-1) UCLA started the season 8-0 before a loss at Missouri. They have an upcoming game with Duke on the 19th. With Shabazz Muhammed in the NBA the Bruins are relying on So Jordan Adams and Freshman Zach Levine.
5. Arizona St (8-2) The Sun Devils split there two tough non-conference games. Besting Marquette before falling to Creigton. ASU is basically turning over their roster from last year, but so far they have done their job.
6. CAL (7-3) CAL has a couple disappointing losses that see them sitting in the 6 spot instead of 5. They were blown out by Dayton, lost to UCSB and #8 Syracuse. You can defend Syracuse but not the other two. SR G Justin Cobbs and JR F David Kravish return to the starting lineup and Welcome F Jabari Bird, to a lineup that returns 4 starters. This could be a team to watch once we get to PAC 12 conference play and post-season.
7. Stanford (6-2) - Led by 6'10" forward Dwight Powell, Stanford is also an experienced team. They are currently 44th in the country in scoring and should maintain that level. The Cardinal have failed to make the NCAA's under Johnny Dawkins and his seat seems to be getting pretty warm.
8. Utah (8-1) This may be the highest Utah will be all year. They have played virtually no one, and lost to Boise St. Jordan Loveridge is their star averaging almost a double double. He should get some post-season honors.
9. UW (4-4) - A disappointing start for Husky fans, but a close loss to a good San Diego St. team sure bring some optimism. Coach Romar often spend the non-conference season finding a rotation. He has seemed to lock in on newcomer Mike Anderson to join CJ Wilcox, Nigel Williams-Goss, Perris Blackwell, and Andrew Andrews. This smaller lineup is one that Romar has used in the past with success. With injuries to Jerrard Jerreau and Desmond Simmons, he was given no choice. Next up Idaho St. on Saturday afternoon.
10. USC (6-3) - New coach Andy Enfield inherited a mess at USC. However, he returns 2 of the Trojans top three scorers and plans to play a guard heavy, uptempo lineup. So far it hasn't worked great, as they have scored over 80 points just twice.
11. Oregon St. (3-2) - Roberto Nelson, the PAC 12's leading scorer a year ago returns to a mostly veteran lineup. They are currently without big man Eric Moreland as he was suspended for 14 game. Oregon St, will probably spend most of the season near the bottom the standings.
12. WSU (4-4) - Remember when Tony Bennett was the coach and the cougars were a four seed in the NCAA two years in a row. Yeah me neither. It will be embarrassing if we lose to these guys this year.
