Previews: Beavers' Offense, Defense and Special Teams; the Prediction; Q & A

Washington currently leads this series 59-34-4, but has failed to come up with a victory in Corvallis since 2003, when the Huskies pulled out a 38-17 victory over a Beaver team that would eventually finish out the season at 8 and 5. In Corvallis the last three meetings the Dawgs have been outscored 115 to 65. Let's buck that trend shall we???

18 - the total number of rushing TD's the Beaver defense has given up in 10 games this season ... they gave up three in each of the last three games.

150 - the number of rushing yards the Oregon State defense gives up each game

396 - the number of passing yards the OSU Offense is racking up each game (the Beavers are averaging exactly 8 yards per pass attempt this season.

What They're Saying

No insults intended; this is really just some gameweek fun ... so have a laugh. These quotes were removed from any relevant context that would give them any logical sense .... These quotes are courtesy of Angry Beavs:

On whether beating UW will do anything for the Beavs

Bob D needs to retire now. It’s the best thing for everyone.

The only win that will change things this year is an absolute beat down of Oregon. That’ll bring back the donors.

I’m really looking forward to next year’s team. I kindof hope they finish this season poorly at this point, in order to be mad going into the offseason. The coaches and players need to be hungry for success next year, and the schedule is perfect for them to do some damage (as long as they practice tackling during fall camp)

Washington won’t change anything because we are 98% likely to lose to Oregon as awful as that sounds. Riley is nowhere close and the playcalling with over reliance on passing shows how he is just wildly taking stabs that are appear ever more desperate against better teams. Also way too many mistakes finishing on real opportunities.

Didn’t change anything for me, except that it’s a nice win. Doesn’t erase Coppin State, Sac State, EWU, the usual *pbbbt*s from basketball and football, and the entrenchment of mediocrity.

Questions Needing Answers

Offense: Can we start this game off with some quick scores instead of quick fumbles? Who's going to start at QB? How many yards will Sankey rack up against a weak Oregon State run defense? Which wideout will breakout this game?

Defense: Can we please stop the Beaver Passing attack? Maybe snag some interceptions? Maybe some fumbles? How is the pass rush going to look? Who's gonna get the first sack for the Dawgs? Does anyone else think that Danny Shelton is amazingly fast for his size ... I mean for somebody half his size?

Miscellaneous: Is anyone against the Mannion from last year playing this game? Why can't we just beat somebody on the road ... I don't even care if the game is close or not ...?

This game looks to be a shootout. Our defense has had some issues with opposing passing attacks as of late, and Oregon State can't stop people from running the ball. I can see the over on this game being 70, or even 80 ... that being said, what I think will happen rarely happens these days ... so I'm going against my gut, which has been growing in recent months ... and am picking a "lower" scoring affair tonight. Final score: Huskies 27 Beavers 24
