- Jim Caple says that, after last night, the REAL champion are you-know-who! Go Dawgs!
- That was one heck of a National Championship thriller last night, eh? Well, at least it gives us a chance to ruminate on the Vancouver Lion's coach that got away.
- Speaking of Doug Nussmeier, it would appear that he was a hot topic before and after last night's game. Ever wonder how he turned Alabama into an offensive juggernaut? ESPN knows.
- And then there is this ... Apparently Alabama doesn't draw as well as Auburn ... or maybe Oregon?
- With the NC game behind us, it is time to start thinking ahead to next season if for no other reason than to fill up white space and drive eyeballs to the adverts placed around the frame of this page. Ted Miller has the Huskies in an unlikely position in his first look at 2013. This after finishing in a disappointing slot to end 2012.
- Stanford finished ranked #2 in that poll despite the declarations for the draft by the Twin Towers. I keep saying it ... but the loss of these guys plus Stepfan plus their two senior wideouts is gonna hurt.
- As many of you saw, the Huskies B-Ball team put out a pretty good effort in squeezing past the Cougars last weekend. Here are some highlights:
- Percy argues (and I agree) that the story of the game was the defense that Desmond Simmons played on Brock Motum. If all you knew about Brock Motum was what you see in his games against UW, I could understand why you would be confused by the talk of him as a POY candidate. The truth is that his is outstanding and Dez was up to the task.
- Obviously, the Cougs felt that they had a pretty good chance at winning that game after overcoming the huge 1st half deficit. Obviously, they are right.
- Count Spokesman-Review columnist John Blanchette among those who are not impressed with the Huskies or with the Cougars.
- Next up? Cal and Coach Monty. The game is at Cal. If you show up early enough, a tasty treat is in store for you.
