Lets start off with action in the Pac 12...Arizona State at California is one of the games I want to watch today. Jeff Tedford and his Golden Bears desperately need to pick up a win or this is going to be a lost season and perhaps a lost coaching career for Tedford who may need to rally to keep his job.
Oregon and Washington State has some interest because the Ducks are our next opponent and the majority of us are always rooting for the Cougars to lose. This one should be over by the half.
The night cap is the thriller between Oregon State and Arizona. Big game for a couple of programs that have flashed well at times this season. I think it will be interesting to see how the Beaver defense does against the Rich-Rod offense.
San Diego State at Fresno State is another game to keep an eye on if you are a Husky fan. The Bulldogs absolutely bombed Colorado back into the stone age two weeks before losing their next game to Tulsa?
SDSU was beaten by UW in the opener and has impressed me (except for the stupid fourth down calls) so far this season. It will be interesting to see how those two match-up for comparisons sake.
Out in the SEC resurgent Tennessee travels to Georgia for what is probably the marquee game in the conference of the rich this week. Alabama takes on Ole Miss at home later this evening. Baylor at West Virginia is an intriguing matchup in the Big 12...Texas and Oklahoma State is another good one that features two over-rated teams.
The least impressive undefeated team (4-0 Minnesota) in the country takes on Iowa...the gecko and I share a secret love for the Gophers...Wisconsin and Nebraska battle in Lincoln for the title of being the slowest mediocre team in the B1G. Ohio State at Michigan State is the B1G game of the week. The Buckeyes are coming off a crap performance against UAB while the Spartans are coming off a humbling by the Irish.
Speaking of Notre Dame they have the week off but the "better" Catholic's (My wife's alma mater Boston College) are hosting Clemson in a game I will be forced to watch even though BC is rebuilding this year. NC State and Miami is the only other game of interest in the ACC.
My wife (Kate) hates Notre Dame. In fact in our sub division there are homes that sport the ND flag on Saturday and she happily flips them the bird as she drives by on her way to do Saturday errands. My greatest fear is that one day she will get all liquored up (not a pretty picture) and go on an egging spree of all the ND homes scattered throughout the neigborhood.
Here is her favorite YouTube video put together by a friend of her older brother who actually does all those cool Bud Light "Real Men of Genius" radio commercials in his basement! That's right...the guy does the voiceovers in his basement...mixes them with the 70's rock singer guy...and emails them in...I want that job!
