Picking the Pac - Week Three

Washington State at UNLV - Good chance that the Cougars exit the weekend with a 2-1 record heading into conference. The Rebels are coached by former UW assistant Bobby Hauck who took this job after an exceptionally good run as head coach at Montana. Vegas - Cougars by 8 - JB's Pick - Washington State 31 UNLV 21

California at Ohio State - There is enough talent on the Golden Bear roster to beat Ohio State this year. The Buckeyes are going through a slight rebuilding phase. The Bears on the other hand aren't playing even close to expectations. Vegas - Buckeyes by 17 - JB's Pick - Ohio State 34 California 14

Tennessee Tech at Oregon - This won't be much of a game for the Ducks who are playing a pansy-ass non-conference schedule that will leave them untested when conference play starts. Tech is a decent FCS program but Oregon is way out of their league. Vegas - No Line - JB's Pick - Oregon 55 Tennessee Tech 17

Arizona State at Missouri - In my mind this is a huge game because it will tell us if the Devils are contenders or pretenders. Mizzou was kicked around pretty good by Georgia so the spread is a bit of a surprise. I have seen the Devils fold plenty of times on the road...so I am going with Pinkel and Company. Vegas - Mizzou by 6 1/2 - JB's Pick - Missouri 35 Arizona State 28

USC at Stanford - Ever since Harbaugh arrived this has become one of the biggest rivalries on the west coast. I have to go with the Tree at home because USC hasn't impressed me yet this season. Not saying that the Cards have either but I think they have been holding back in anticipation of this game. Vegas - Trojans by 9 - JB's Pick - Tree 31 Trojans 28

Colorado at Fresno State - The Buffs are terrible. So terrible that they just may be the worst team in the history of the conference. The loss of Paul Richardson just killed whatever spark they had left on offense. Vegas - Bulldogs by 15 1/2 - JB's Pick - Fresno State 38 Colorado 17

BYU at Utah - Take BYU and the points on this one because the Utes haven't played well at all this season and they just lost their starting QB for the rest of the season. Vegas - Cougars by 4 - JB's Pick - BYU 31 Utah 14

South Carolina State at Arizona - Rich-Rod and company are off to a quick start after shocking Oklahoma State last week. Vegas - No Line - JB's Pick - Arizona 55 SC State 24

Houston at UCLA - Jim Mora has the Bruins cruising on all cylinders coming off an upset win over Nebraska. Rick Neuheisel did him a big favor by not throwing Hundley to the wolves last season. - Vegas - Bruins by 17 - UCLA 41 Houston 17
