Sunday Bests - Washington Huskies in the NFL

Presswire

Well its time for your mid-week NFL look back. The Huskies got whipped down in Baton Rouge on Saturday night, but there are a few former Huskies that fared pretty well on Sunday. I got to watch a little of most of the players and of course I liked what I saw. But I want to know what your impression of our former Dawgs were!

Jake Locker QB Tennessee Titans

Jake played pretty well until getting hurt late in a lopsided loss to the Patriots. Jake was 23/32 229 yards. That is a lofty 72% completion percentage. He threw a TD to Nate Washingon and his first career interception. All five of his career td's have been thrown to Nate Washington. Jake was hurt making a tackle on a fumble that ended up not being a fumble after review. He did not reenter the game because they game was out of hand. The injury is being called a bruised shoulder and he expected to play this weekend

Donald Butler LB San Diego Chargers

I watched the first half of the San Diego - Oakland game and was impressed by Butler. He recorded 8 tackles including 2 for loss and 1 sack. He was San Diego's leading tackler and should be all year.

Mason Foster LB Tampa Bay Bucaneers

Mason recorded 5 tackles, 3 for loss in the Buccanneers victory over Carolina. The Panthers only collected 10 yards rushing all game.

Dashon Goldson S San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are for real and Dashon is a big part of that. He collected 4 tackles in the Niners victory over the Packers. The Niners have to be one of the early favorites for the Super Bowl.

Chris Polk RB Philadelphia Eagles

Chris was active for the game with Dion Lewis being banged up. He didn't get on the stat sheet and I am not sure if he played.

Khalif Barnes OT Oakland Raiders

Khalif started at RT as expected. Oakland ran the ball only 20 times and were ineffective against Donald Butler and the Chargers. The passing game wasn't a whole lot better. One other Raider notes: Janikowski is beefy.

Marcel Reece FB Oakland Raiders

Marcel started at FB but split time with former Seahawk Owen Schmitt. Marcel had one carry for zero yards but caught 2 balls for 20 yards. Owen impressed me more in the first half than Marcel did. Owen is an experienced fullback, whereas Marcel is more athletic. It just so happens that Owen's dad lives near me and I have gotten to know him over the past few years.

Senio Kelemete OG Arizona Cardinals

We all know that the Cardinals beat the Seahawks on Sunday. Senio was inactive for the game.

Alameda Ta'Amu DT Pittsburgh Steelers

In a battle of the two teams I hate the most, the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Broncos. Alameda was inactive.

Daniel Te'o-Nesheim DE Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Daniel was active for the Bucs Victory but did not record a tackle.
