As NFL rosters are starting to be finalized, this list of players is getting shorter. Three more players were cut this week including Roy Lewis of the Seahawks. Roy should have a chance to make a team once he is healthy, but it's hard to tell. Last week was the main preseason game for the starters. Some guys had great weeks and other didn't make the stat sheet. As roster drop to 53 players on Friday night there will probably be another 6 players either waived or placed on the practice squad. See how all the Huskies did last week after the jump.
Jake Locker QB Tennessee
Jake Locker started his first NFL game at home in Tennessee. He did not disappoint his home town crowd, as he had a nice bounce back game. The threw for 124 yards and 2 tds, with a passer rating of 109. It was a home game against the Cardinals, but I think he proved he should be the one starting.
Donald Butler MLB San Diego
Donald had 5 tackles in SD win last week. Pretty good line when you consider he didn't play the whole game. Butler could be SD's leading tackler this year.
Mason Foster MLB Tampa Bay
Mason did not play last week due to a mild hamstring injury. Probably just precautionary since it is preseason.
Dashon Goldson FS San Francisco
Dashon recorded just one tackle in SF's win over Denver. Although the Denver offense got the better of SF while the starters were in. Dashon is the starting FS in SF.
Chris Polk RB Philadelphia
Chris was the Eagles' leading rusher last week, gaining 39 yards on 6 carries. However, the rumors now are that Chris is on the bubble and may not make the team. He is 4th on the depth chart at RB but can play FB as well. I think it would be a mistake for the Eagles to put him on the practice squad, as I would think someone with a need would snatch him up for their active roster.
Roy Lewis CB Seattle
Roy had knee surgery last week and there is no timetable on his return. He was placed on the waived/injured list.
Marcel Reece FB Oakland
Marcel was not on the stat sheet last week. I am a little surprised that he didn't get some mop up carries. But I assume that the Raiders are still wanting see what Taiwan Jones can bring them. Marcel will see plenty of action this year.
Isaiah Stanback WR New York Giants
Isaiah logged one catch for 10 yards in the giants loss to the Bears. Stanback is in trouble of making the roster. If he doesn't stick in New York, I hope he will find some playing time somewhere else.
Devin Aguilar WR Tennessee
Devin did not make a catch last week. He is at best a practice squad player this year and unlikely to play at anytime in the regular season.
Khalif Barnes OT Oakland
It's hard to get stats for lineman. Khalif is the starting RT for the Raiders. Going forward I will discuss the Raiders' offense as whole when discussing Khalif.
Senio Kelemete OG Arizona
Senio appears to have made the team and should be the primary backup at guard for the Cardinals. The Cardinals line has had some injury and is struggling. These two issues could help get him on the field.
Jermaine Kearse WR Seattle
Jermaine failed to make a catch for the second time in three preseason games. He survived the first rounds of cuts but wont this week and is doubtful to make the final roster. Practice squad is his best bet and it may not be in Seattle.
Alameda Ta'Amu DT Pittsburgh
Alameda had just one tackle in Pittsburgh's rout of Buffalo last week. He has failed to impress in Pittsburgh thus far. He probably makes the final roster though
Dorson Boyce FB Washington
Dorson did catch a ball last week. He is the back-up FB in Washington and still a long shot to make the final roster. He will probably get some playing time this week before packing his bags.
Stanley Daniels OG Cleveland
Stanley will have a tough time making the final cuts. I am rooting for him so we will see come Friday night.
Erik Folk K Atlanta
Erik missed a FG and made one extra point last week. As expected he was waived when the Falcons dropped to 75 players.
Austin Sylvester FB Denver
Austin was also waived this week.
Daniel Te'o-Nesheim DT Tampa Bay
Daniel had one tackle last week, doubling his preseason total.
Everrette Thompson DE Arizona
Everrette did not make a tackle last week. He is at best a practice squad player in his rookie year.
