Our good friends at Dawgman are reporting that WR Michael Rector from Bellarmine Prep HS in Tacoma has given his verbal to Washington. He had planned on committing in July but admittedly felt the heat when the Huskies got a verbal from a California WR last weekend.
Rector had 67 receptions as a junior for around 1100 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had 50 tackles and six interceptions playing corner on defense. He also took a couple of kicks back for touchdowns. Rector is expected to play offense for Washington but he obviously has the versatility to help out on the other side of the ball if needed.
As a junior, while helping to lead his team to the 4A State Semifinals, Rector hauled in 67 receptions for nearly 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver (the position schools are recruiting him to play) while posting 50 tackles and six interceptions as a corner on defense. He also averaged 25 yards per kick return and had two that he took back for touchdowns.
Rector is a good pickup and another sign that Steve Sarkisian is putting a fence around the state of Washington. Scout has him rated currently as a three star and the number 61 WR in the nation.
