How does the 2011 Class Add Up?

QUARTERBACK: 1

QB Derrick Brown 6-3 240

Summary: Washington wouldn't have minded picking up two in this class but the one that they got has great size and tools. I think Brown is a very exciting pick up...I like him as much as Brissett...big physical guys will their team to wins in November. Brissett is still in minor play by the way.

Grade: B Plus

The one's that got away: Brett Hundley - UCLA Jacoby Brissett - ? Cody Kessler - USC

WIDE RECEIVERS: 4

WR Kasen Williams 6-2 215

WR Jamaal Jones 6-2 185

WR Josh Perkins 6-3 200

WR Marvin Hall 5-10 175

Summary: Williams is the national Parade AA player of the year. He will make an instant impact. Hall also has the ability to make an instant impact returning the ball. Perkins is extremely underrated. He will grow into something special. Jones is similar to Perkins in some ways. This is a real good looking class even though they didn't pick off a 4-5 star player from SoCal.

Rating: A

The one that got away: None

TIGHT ENDS: 1

TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins 6-7 256

Summary: ASJ will play right away and he will be here this spring. He has the ability to stretch the field for UW and fill a huge hole in the Husky Offense.

Rating: A Plus

The one that got away: None

RUNNING BACKS: 2

FB Dezden Petty 6-0 215

RB Bishop Sankey 5-11 190

Summary: Stealing Sankey from WSU filled a big hole in this years recruiting class. He is a good looking back who will look for early playing time in a crowded backfield. Petty is a legit FB who could end up being our version of Stanley Havili.

Rating: A

The one that got away: Brendan Bigelow - California

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN: 2

OG Dexter Charles 6-5 270

OG Siosifa Tufunga 6-3 280

Summary: Whiffing on Asiata and Nembot on the same day was a major disappointment for most fans. Charles and Tufunga are at least a couple of years away from seeing the field. Good thing there is a once in a decade type of in state OL class on the way. UW should have courted Marcus Henry much earlier in the process for insurance.

Rating: C

The one's that got away: Stephan Nembot - Colorado Paulay Asiata - Colorado Ryan Nowicki - Penn State Marcus Henry - Boise State

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN: 4

DT Taniela Tupou 6-2 275

DE Connor Cree 6-4 225

DT Danny Shelton 6-3 285

DE Jarett Finau 6-3 235

Summary: Losing Coleman and Brown to grades is a tough break. Perhaps we will see them in a couple of years. Putting a fence around the state and grabbing these four guys is a real nice haul.

Grade: B Plus

The one's that got away: Greg Townsend - USC Charlie Hopkins Stanford - Viliami Moala - California Akeem Gonzalez - Oregon State

LINEBACKERS: 4

OLB Matthew Lyons 6-2 210

OLB Scott Lawyer 6-2 205

OLB Corey Waller 6-2 215

ILB Thomas Tutogi 6-1 245

Summary: You pick up a probable starter and then some in Tutogi. I think he has the potential to be an All Conference type of player. Lawyer and Lyons are the type of kids that are growing to their frames. Waller is going to be a bruiser. This is a real good looking group.

Grade: A

The one that got away: Leilon Willingham - Michigan

DEFENSIVE BACKS: 4

S Evan Zeger 6-2 205

S James Sample 6-2 195

CB Antavius Sims 6-2 200

CB Marcus Peters 5-11 195

Summary: Sample and Zeger can lay some lumber and Peters and Sims have the type of speed that has been lacking on the edges. If you were crying over the loss of Kameron Jackson don't get too upset...Sims is better and he will deliver immediately.

The one's that got away: Kameron Jackson - California DeAnthony Thomas - USC Stefan McClure - California

Grade: A
