Those screams you heard last night when you turned on your computer were probably coming from the Dawgman recruiting board. The news wasn't good even though it wasn't exactly surprising.
Take it all with a big grain of salt. We have four months to go till LOI day and there will be plenty of twists and turns along the way.there are going to be good days and bad days but in the end I am completely confident that the Huskies will have another top twenty recruiting class.
In the meantime all Washington needs to do is keep winning and everything is going to take care of itself.
Lakes HS DB/WR Cedric Dozier has announced that he will attend California. It isn't much of a surprise since he has been leaning that way since spring. UW liked him as a DB while CAL liked him as a WR. He fancies himself as a wide receiver. Even though he went to Lakes he is originally from the Southeast so he really doesn't have any ties to the Puget Sound area.
DE Jeremy Castro from Murrieta, Ca has de-commited from Washington and now plans to attend Oregon. He says the Oregon coaches have assured him that the Ducks will not be suffering from any major NCAA penalties. (Please hold your laughter till the end of the article) That type of strategy actually worked pretty well for Lane Kiffin and his staff last season. When in doubt lie...when in bigger doubt lie bigger!
LB Brett Bafaro is still torn between Washington and Oregon. We keep hearing that he will end up at UW. Bafaro is a candidate to play LB or FB.
OT/DT Arik Armstead has de-committed from USC. Not sure if that means Washington will get a visit since he is a high profile national recruit. Insiders say that after he gets finished taking some trips he will still end up at USC. Scout has him listed as the #1 overall recruit in the country.
OG Josh Garnett was at the game Saturday with his father Scott Garnett who is a former Husky. Both arrived to the stadium decked out in purple and gold which is a good sign. Garnett likely will choose between Washington, Michigan, and Stanford.
RB/LB Ryan McDaniel had an official visit to Montlake this past weekend. He says Washington is his leader followed by Arizona State and USC.
DT Ellis McCarthy and S Shaq Thompson visited Oregon over the weekend. Neither committed and both still have UW in their top five.
