WR Jermaine Kearse was named the Pac 10 offensive player of the week after his three TD performance against Syracuse. He was also named the UW student athlete of the week.

The Vegas line for the game is sliding Washington's direction. It opened at 6 points and is now down to 3.5 in Nebraska's favor.

James Johnson and Johri  Fogerson could possibly play this week. Johnson played a bit against Syracuse and Fogerson sat the game out with a hip flexor injury. Jake Locker has a bone bruise on his non throwing hand that isn't expected to limit him. Cameron Elisara is day-to-day with a quad bruise.

The Washington / Nebraska game will be broadcast regionally on ABC and be shown on the web at ESPN3. All single game tickets have sold out for the event but Tyee season ticket packages still remain available.

According to Coug Center the writing is on the wall for Paul Wulff and AD Bill Moos has opened Pandora's box on the subject. I wouldn't be surprised if Wulff is gone by game seven or eight, giving the Cougs a head start in finding a replacement.

I was listening to the Dan Patrick show this morning and he said Oregon went in and watched tape of the game during the game delay due to thunderstorms. The Ducks made some adjustments to what UT was doing and then went on a 45-0 blitz.

Oregon, USC, Stanford, Arizona, and Oregon State are all in the top 25 this week. 2011 member Utah is also in the top 25. California cracked the top 25in the coaches poll.

The Big 12 isn't cutting Colorado any breaks and they may have to wait till 2012 to join the conference.

"The chances are worse than 50-50," Scott said. "I don`t know how to rank it beyond that. At this stage, we`re planning as though they`re coming in in 2012. In other words, we`ve got an 11-team football schedule for next year teed up."

Pac 10 commissioner Larry Scott has penalized the officials who worked the USC-Virginia game for blowing a blocking below the waist call in the second quarter that went against the Cavaliers. With over 11 minute left in the second quarter Virginia punter Jimmy Howell completed a 35 yard pass down to the Trojans 35. The play was negated by an illegal chop block. UVA had to punt the ball.

"The officials recognized the mistake after the fact and apologized to the Virginia coaching staff. We know mistakes are made in games, but we will not tolerate our officials misinterpreting the rules," Scott said. "We believe the reprimand and removal from a future assignment are appropriate."

UCLA is opening up the competition this week at QB.

"I think we've made it clear to the quarterbacks and Norm has made it clear to those guys that we have to play the position better and obviously there'll be competition."
