The next great debate has started in the Pac 10 and it involves how to put together the divisions. You either divide it geographically or you divide the rivals and put one in each division.
I suggest they do a hybrid where they split the league one way for football (Zipper), and one way for all the other sports who depend on travel partners (North-South).
The North - South Split
- North: California, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State
- South: Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, USC, Colorado, Utah
The Zipper Split
- East: Washington State, USC, Stanford, Arizona, Oregon, Colorado
- West: Washington, UCLA, California, Arizona State, Oregon State, Utah
Ted Miller of ESPN as usual does a great job sorting out the pro's and con's in his blog.
