The Monday Morning Wash

New, 48 comments

We start the morning off with a little recruiting news. I say a little because nobody committed over the weekend according to Scout. The Huskies do seem to be a in a good position with OL Pauley Asiata who enjoyed his trip. Usually the kids from Hawaii go home to talk things over with their parents before giving a verbal. I think there is a pretty good chance that Asiata ends up being a Dawg.

JUCO DT Uriah Grant says Washington is the leader for his services but the Huskies have not offered yet. He will also be visiting Ole Miss. CB Marcus Peters from Oakland has a couple of visits left before deciding on a school too. Ryan Nowicki who visited UW last weekend says the Huskies are a strong contender for his services. Bishop Sankey says he will choose between UW, WSU, and Maryland and will make an official visit to UW in January.

JUCO LB Brendan Daley committed to Hawaii over the weekend but will be taking in a UW Holiday Bowl practice in San Diego with JUCO Ath Antavius Sims. If Washington decides they want Daley and if he can get in...two big if's...they can still get him.

In case you missed it QB Michael Eubank has verbaled to ASU which means UW is likely finished recruiting QB's for this class.

Odds and Ends

Nebraska safety Rickey Thenarse has been suspended from playing in the Holiday Bowl because of a DUI. He is the second Nebraska defensive starter who will miss the game because of a DUI. DT Baker Steinkuhler is the other missing black shirt.

Rick Neuheisel forced two of his coaches on Saturday. WR Reggie Moore and DC Chuck Bullough won't be returning. It is pretty unlikely that Norm Chow will return but there has been no announcement yet on his status.

Tyrone Willingham possibly to Maryland? That is a report we read over the weekend but it looks like the final choice may end up being Mike Leach.

Husky Safety Sean Parker is still listed as doubtful for the Holiday Bowl. He still hasn't been cleared to play by the medical staff because of stingers. Taz Stevenson who came on during the second half of the season will step in for him if he can't play.

FB Zach Fogerson is still in red so you can mark him down too as being questionable for the game.

DT Chris Robinson sat out the weekend with a swollen knee. The coaches expect him back for the game.

Talia Chrichton looks like he will be able to play on December 30th. The Husky DE has been getting more work in practice and has been holding up under contact.
