Just when fans could use a little bit of good recruiting news a woof emanated from the hallowed halls of Montlake. MLB Thomas Tutogi announced that he is headed to Seattle to be a Husky. Thomas has four years to play three and will compete for a starting job this spring. His signing could mean that Cort Dennison could move back outside next season.
Tutogi picked the Huskies over USC. He visited the Trojans last weekend and was impressed, but the pull of the staff, and the camaraderie of the team at Washington were the deciding factors in the decision. Tutogi was a qualifier coming out of high school so he will have no problem getting into Washington.
The Huskies lose two highly regarded starters at linebacker in 2011. Mason Foster who was just named an AP All American and Victor Aiyewa who ended up being one of the better LB's in the conference during the second half of the season.
In other recruiting news OL Dontae Levingston from Narbonne HS in Long Beach has decided to attend SMU. i find it interesting that he would turn down a Pac 10 offer to go the CUSA route.
