Beat The Tree!

Stanford rolls into Hec Ed tonight in a pivotal game for the Huskies. Win and they pull out of a slump and carry momentum into their meeting with Cal. Lose and they stay in the cellar of the conference and the season looks headed for dark places. The Huskies must not start slowly as they have recently, and that falls on Quincy Pondexter. He has to demand the ball in the first half and be aggressive, rather than just letting the game come to him. He's been too passive of late. Another big game from Abdul Gaddy would be nice, after he showed some scoring ability against Zona (5/7 from the floor). I'd be very surprised to see Tyreese Breshers start again, but expect more physicality from the big men, as coach Fortier worked their tails off this week in practice in an effort to get them to take the paint. Landry Fields of Stanford is one of the best players in the conference, and can score from anywhere. Another defensive lapse will spell a long night for the Dawgs.
