Golf team rallies to advance...Softball team wins game one

The Husky golf team hasn't been hitting on all cylinders in Toledo as UW Ace Nick Taylor slid to ninth overall in the individual competition. Today however is a new day and the Huskies enter the team match play segment with a #5 seed and face off against Arkansas. Uw is looking for its first national championship in golf.

The softball team started the CWS with a 3-1 win over Georgia that has analysts picking UW to win it all after getting a good look at all eight teams remaining.

Washington will play Pac-10 rival and defending NCAA champion Arizona State in a second-round game today. The winner gets a day off; the loser will play an elimination game Saturday night.

ESPN softball analyst Stacey Nuveman, a past college player of the year as a catcher at UCLA and a gold medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, answers questions about the Women's College World Series that starts Thursday:

Q: Which team in the field of eight is your favorite?

A: I actually made the proclamation on ESPN Sunday night that I am picking the Huskies to go all the way. I like the way they are playing right now, with a lot of confidence and poise.
