Huskies win title with 67-60 win over Cougars

Washington won it's first outright Pac 10 championship in basketball tonight with a 67-60 win over arch rival WSU at Hec Edmundson. The Cougars stayed close the entire game but they didn't have that extra gear to get ahead and stay ahead of Washington in this one.

Washington was led by Quincy Pondexter who scored 16 and Venoy Overton who added 14 points. He was 3-5 from the field and 8-11 from the line. Jon Brockman didn't get another double-double but had a monster night with18 rebounds. Justin Dentmon chipped in 12 and had a couple of big three's.

UW won this game with defense. The Huskies held the Cougars to only 37% from the field. Taylor Rochestie led the Coug's with 23 and kept the Coug's in it from three point land. In the end the quickness of the Huskies was the story tonight. The more athletic team ended up winning.

Next up for Washington is the Pac 10 Tournament next weekend in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
