Colin Tanigawa from Loyola High School in Los Angeles has committed to the University of Washington. The natural center had offers from Arizona State, Nebraska, UCLA, and Iowa State in addition to Washington.
Tanigawa is the fourth HS offensive lineman in this class and expect Washington to sign one or two more in addition to looking for some immediate help via the JC route. Scout has him rated as a two star while Rivals has him rated as a three star. Scout still has not evaluated him to give him a final rating. The feeling is he is a three start talent when the evaluation is done. Tanigawa is rated as one of the top ten OL in the Los Angeles region.
Washington is still in on Micah Hatchie, Michael Christie, and Niu Sale. Hatchie will visit after his season is over and the other two visited last weekend. All three have current offers. Christie and Sale didn't verbal this past weekend but both were excited about their trip. The Huskies still haven't given up on Nick Rowland who verbaled to Oregon earlier this month either.
Overall it looks to be a very solid OL class for Washington at this point. Adding a four star player like Hatchie would be the proverbial cherry on top of the ice cream sundae. Expect more recruiting news over the weekend since the coaches are out on the road visiting with recruits and theri familes all over the West.
