JC Defensive Tackles

Washington has been working defensive linemen hard this year when it comes to recruiting. They already have recruited five and would like to bring in at least two more. The two that they are concentrating the most on are Myles Wade and Branden Warner who are a couple of highly touted JC transfers.

Wade is from Portland and originally committed to Oregon but did not qualify. He always seemed to have some interest in Washington but Willingham was never really on him because of the academic risk. Washington offered him yesterday during an in home visit and he was excited about the opportunity to place close to home and in the Pac 10.

Washington's competition for this 6'3 310 lb stud is Texas Tech, Nebraska, and Auburn. Only Washington and Texas Tech have offered at this point. He will visit Texas Tech this coming weekend. Chris Fetters from Dawgman had a great interview with him today when he was between plane flights.

Branden Warner is the other guy Washington is in on. He is a soft commit to UCLA at this point. Warner visited Washington last weekend and came away impressed. Tennessee dropped him so it is down to UW and UCLA for this fine physical specimen. Washington has an edge because Warner thinks he can get in to school as early as spring quarter and participate in spring practice. He wouldn't be able to get into UCLA until this summer. Scott Ecklund from Dawgman has an interview with Warner.
