Huskies pick up another verbal from the Islands

DE Kimo Makaula from Punahou HS in Honolulu became the latest addition to the 2009 recruiting class. The 6'3 240 pound athlete was originally going to attend UH but decided to accept an offer from UW once it was offered because of his desire to play in the Pac 10 and live in Seattle. The family has been long time friends with former UW LB Ink Aleaga. There also was considerable late interest from Oregon, Arizona, and California.

Kimo is a good pick up for the Dawgs. He was overshadowed by all world LB Manti Te'o while at Punahou but there were definitely nights when he was the teams best player. He is an exceptional athlete who also played QB for Punahou.

He will play either defensive end or tight end for the Huskies.
