Huskies blast Texas Southern

Washington continued to improve on a game to game basis blasting Texas Southern last night 88-52 at Hec Edmundson Pavillion.

Matthew Bryan-Amaning came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points as Washington coasted to an 88-52 victory over winless Texas Southern on Saturday night. Jon Brockman added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies (5-3), making seven of eight shot attempts. Quincy Pondexter added 13 as 10 Huskies scored.

Five minutes into the second half, it turned into the Bryan-Amaning show. The 6-foot-9 freshman forward scored every point -- 14 straight -- for the Huskies over a six-minute span, building Washington's lead to 68-40 with 8:10 left.

Washington had a season-high nine steals and forced 24 turnovers that yielded 46 points.

The Huskies finished with 59.3 percent shooting from the floor (35 of 59) and held a 36-27 edge on the boards.
