Another talented linebacker joins Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense. Ariel Ngata, a 6-4, 210 lb. prospect out of Folsom High School (Folsom, Calif.) is rated as a three- or four-star talent by the major recruiting sites (247sports.com and Scout rate him as a four-star). This article from USA today says not to be fooled by his ranking as the nation’s No. 30 outside linebacker. Physically, he resembles former UW standout Travis Feeney with his length and athleticism.

"I'm being recruited more as a hybrid, a stand up pass-rusher," Ngata told Scout. "Oregon and Washington see me as that hybrid that can rush at the stand up end. I'm hoping to get up to 220, where I'm heavy enough to play effectively at outside linebacker but still fast."
Ngata, who chose UW over several schools including Oregon, is not related to former Oregon and current NFL star Haloti Ngata.
