Spring Practice Part 2: The Muddled QB Position

With Keith Price getting ready for his Pro Day in a couple of days, Cyler Miles being (apparently) cleared of wrong-doing, and Jake Browning committing to Washington there is a ton of intrigue surrounding the QB position for the Huskies.

Let's start of with what we do know. Keith Price held down things for the Huskies for 3 years. Statistically speaking, he will go down as one of the best to play at Montlake. Thanks Keith and best of luck to you.

As we bid adieu to the record-setting Price we say hello to the Jake Browning. All Browning did his junior year is throw as many TDs as Price threw as a Dawg in three years. At 7th in the country, he comes in as the highest ranked QB since the last Montlake Jake.

Moving onto Cyler Miles: What we do know is that he will not be charged in the Post-Super Bowl victory celebration. What we don't know is how indefinite his suspension will be and how his physical conditioning will be. With two weeks of practice remaining there's still time to get some video so Coach Pete can see how he compares to Williams and Lindquist. He will have three practices under his belt to be a full-go, but that means little to a QB as it is a non-contact position in Spring any way.

Next up is RS Freshman, Troy Williams and Sophomore Jeff Lindquist. With an even distribution of reps over the first spring session these two will have had many things to work on in the two weeks since they last threw in front of Petersen. Their development details have been skint but the shreds of info we've received is they are doing fine but no leader has emerged.

All in all a bit of a crazy news day at QBU. Who will be throwing to the Legion Of Zoom this Fall is anybody's guess. Again, thanks Keith, welcome Jake, welcome back Cyler and keep it going Troy and Jeff! Woof!
