Recap fan's perspective attending UW vs. UI at Soldier Field

"All I saw was purple" from the natives of Chicago (on my flight to MSP without wearing colors). "My GAWD the UW travels well." "We sold out of PBRs, Coors Lights, etc., in half the time of a Bears Game and I would have added extra staff...and beer," from the owner of the Cactus. She added she would have added another bus. Roughly 5000 at the UWAA tailgate, and I am estimating as I arrived right before kickoff and there were still 1000. Excellent seats were available at game time. Sat on the 45 yard line, 2nd level 3 rows back. I bought my ticket on Ticketmaster but sat with Dawgs that bought theirs for face value in the same section just before the game. Illini fans were really cool. Collegial environment. I can be obnoxious, and they dished it back, but we always shook hands and congratulated each other. Magnificent Mile hotel. Architecture River Cruise. Navy Pier. Trufano's (a great Italian place). Portillos hot dogs. Benny's Steak House. Mary's Diner. Geno's Pizza. THE ART INSTITUTE of CHICAGO (truly one of the world's best museums). Outside of the game, that was the highlight. We seriously took over the city. PURPLE EVERYWHERE!. Cheers
