Team USA's U-19 squad had their first game of the FIBA world championship and they won it in Dream Team style, tripling Ivory Coast's score 88-29.
Nigel Williams-Goss, Washington Huskies commit, led the team in minutes with 22. He scored seven points and hit a three.
There are several other players of interest on the squad. Aaron Gordon, who spurned UW for Arizona, scored 12 points on 6-8 shooting. He also notched a game-high four assists.
Nigel Williams-Goss is one of the top recruits for 2013. However, another Washington recruit is one of the top recruits for the class of 2014. The youngest player on the team is Justise Winslow, he also led the team in scoring with 14 points. He is a truly elite prospect the 6-6 small forward has a very good handle for his size, is a tremendous athlete and has athleticism that fits a top recruit. UW fans have been burned by top recruits before, and there is no indication that Washington is a favorite, but Winslow is someone to keep an eye on.
We will be having updates on how Williams-Goss and company do at the FIBA Championships as the tournament progresses.
