CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Mary Lou Mulflur became the 46th member inducted into the WGCA Hall of Fame on Tuesday afternoon. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. Mulflur became the second Husky coach to join of the WGCA Coaches Hall of Fame, joining her mentor Edean Ihlanfeldt.

"I am honored and humbled to receive this award," said Mulflur. "I never dreamed to be in this position when I started coaching. It is very special to be recognized by your colleagues who you work side-by-side and compete with year after year."

Mulflur is in her 31st season as the Husky head coach, leading the Dawgs to 20-straight NCAA Regional appearances and nine trips to the NCAA Championships. The Dawgs recently wrapped up their fall season, which included a trip to Japan and a 50-stroke victory at the Topy Cup.

Mulflur becomes the third-consecutive Pac-12 coach to elected to the WGCA Hall of Fame and joins Ihlanfeldt who was inducted back in 2007.

Mulflur played for Ihlandfeldt from 1976-80, where she was a four-year letter winner and three-time individual medalist. She took over as the Huskies’ head coach in 1983 and has overseen one of the top programs in the nation ever since.

In addition to the team honors, several of Mulflur’s players have gone on to play professionally, including Paige Mackenzie and Nancy Kessler-McDaniel. Just this past summer, current Husky SooBin Kim competed in the LPGA’s Safeway Classic.

Mulflur's players have also achieved in the classroom. Mackenzie was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team three-straight seasons and during Mulflur's tenure, 16 UW golfers have earned the distinction on 25 occasions. She also boasts a 100% graduation rate.

A native of Portland, Ore., Mulflur is already a member of the Portland Interscholastic League Hall of Fame as well as a Hall of Famer at her alma mater, Grant High School. In 2010, Mulflur was awarded the NCGA Founders Award for her service to the sport.

Mulflur graduated from Washington in 1980 with a degree in speech communications. She is a former vice-president of the Women's Golf Coaches Association as well as having served on numerous committees within the Association. Mulflur served on the LPGA SAFECO Classic Advisory Board for many years and along with SAFECO, developed a junior golf program for inner city girls. She also served as a member of the NCAA Women's Golf Committee from 2008 - 2011.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents nearly 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
