Penn State Penalty Summary

The NCAA lowered the boom on Penn State this morning in unprecedented fashion. A one year death penalty is actually preferable. These penalties will bury the PSU football program for at least a decade.

  • $60 Million Dollar Fine
  • Four Year Postseason ban
  • Official vacation of all wins going back to 1998
  • Paterno personally must vacate all wins going back to 1998. Paterno's record has been amended to 298-136-3.
  • Penn State must reduce 10 initial and 20 total scholarships each year for a four-year period.
  • The Big Ten has announced that PSU will not share in championship game revenues over the next four years. The money will be donated to charity. The estimated amount of PSU's share over the next four years is expected to be $13 million.
