Week 1 Pac 12 Basketball Pickem Results/Week 2 Preview

Thanks to all that participated. For those that didnt its not too late to get it. Congrats to brownypts who was perfect in the first week of Pac 12 Play. A couple of us missed both WSU games proving that cougars suck. Here are the standings:

Brownypts 10-0 1.000%

kelly20210 9-1 .900%

CaHusky 9-1 .900%

John Berkowitz 8-2 .800%

CoDawg 8-2 .800%

PurpleHeart 8-2 .800%

Sundodger 6-4 .600%

Like brownypyts, our huskies started out Pac 12 play undefeated. Although, we expect them to win at home it is still a nice start for this young team. UDUB was lead by Tony Wroten JR who went for 26 pts 9 reb and 4 ast, with only 2 turnovers against OSU. He followed that up with 17-4-5 against Oregon which earned him Pac 12 Player of the week honors. It is my understanding he is only the second (Hawes) to earn this honor as a UDUB freshman.

Washington hits the road this week to the Rocky Mountains. They play in Boulder on Thursday night. A game which I will be attending and then Utah on Saturday. CU is coming off of a 40 point victory of Utah and will certainly provide the tougher challenge. CU (9-4, 1-0) is led by Carlon Brown 12.8 pts and Andre Roberson 12.1 and 12 rebs. CU average 70.8 points a game compared to Washington's 80.6, but is a decent reb team. If we can handle the second chances we should win this game in similar fashion as our first two. Dont Forget this game will be played at altitude, which could affect Washington's ability to run. I will pick washington 84-72

As for the Utah (3-10, 0-1) game. They might be the weakest team on our schedule. That being said did anyone see a lose to South Dakota St at home. Utah is one of the worst scoring and rebound teams in the nation. They will struggle to find one win in conference play this year. I see a UDUB blowout in this game 92-58.
