I finally get to watch a game.

… Pac 12 network cannot come soon enough.

Damn, my eyeball tastes good.

Agreed 100%!

Cannot wait, I’m so excited for the network and the new stadium in 2013!

by PurpleHeart on Jan 28, 2012 11:36 AM PST up reply actions

I'm excited for this one

We’re going to have to beat a few good teams on the road if we want to win the conference/make the tournament. Hopefully Wilcox can contribute more today.

by brownypts on Jan 28, 2012 12:48 PM PST reply actions

This is definitely a win we need to get.

We need to make a statement on the road if we expect to compete in quality games in the tournament.

by CanisInvictus on Jan 28, 2012 1:37 PM PST via Android app up reply actions

we need a fast start

and the last game worries me. I thought I heard that ASU only had 7 scholarship players dressed for our game, indeed there were only 5 subs on the bench. I thought we should run them into the ground, thinking that the pace should have been a little quicker than 22 points in the first half.

by dawgdude on Jan 28, 2012 2:11 PM PST reply actions

ASU does that to you though with their matchup zone.

They love to slow it down and grind it out, and they did exactly that. The game was played at 62 possessions, which is right where they want it (season average is 63). Compare to UW’s average of 72.

Simmons for a 3!

Aziz also doing some nice work early

by kschimke on Jan 28, 2012 4:09 PM PST reply actions

So many turnovers for Arizona

We need to continue to make them pay

by kschimke on Jan 28, 2012 4:13 PM PST reply actions

Liking this start.

Methodically, professionally, running the show.

by Hawnk on Jan 28, 2012 4:15 PM PST reply actions

Seeing him last year

Never thought those two words would go together. He’s really improved this year.

by JoeinFW on Jan 28, 2012 4:27 PM PST up reply actions

Very High Ceiling

I know all the talk is about Tross, TWroten, CJ, etc. – however N’Daiye has a ton of potential in my view. I think he is going to be a force of nature next year.

by PurpleHeart on Jan 28, 2012 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

He has always had the potential

You have to remember, he started basketball so late and had so little formal coaching till just recently – huge potential to be a beast next year. This is what I wanted to see this year; improvement.

by PurpleHeart on Jan 28, 2012 4:28 PM PST up reply actions

Officiating:

BIG BIG BIG difference when Lute isn’t hounding officials on the sidelines all game. Arizona might be in slow decline.

by JoeinFW on Jan 28, 2012 4:29 PM PST reply actions

I'm offically on the TW bandwagon after the past two weeks

he’s really stepped his game up. He’s still dominating the ball too much, but his decisions while dominating the ball are much, much better.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:31 PM PST up reply actions

Ooops

that shouldn’t have been in a reply box.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:31 PM PST up reply actions

Simmons hustle covers up a lot of his deficiencies

He’ll be a huge piece of this team going forward.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:37 PM PST reply actions

Yup.

He’s prevented 2 Arizona baskets on the last two Arizona possessions.

by thecassino on Jan 28, 2012 4:37 PM PST up reply actions

Can't Wait

Simmons and Aziz next year should bring a ton to this team.

by PurpleHeart on Jan 28, 2012 4:39 PM PST up reply actions

It's tought to count on a big man to hit more than 65-70%.

He’s 23-61 this year. If he hit for 70% he’d be 43-61. 20 points is 20 points and all, but that’s kind of an exaggeration.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:42 PM PST up reply actions

Great defense

Very nonsensical turnovers…

by JoeinFW on Jan 28, 2012 4:37 PM PST reply actions

On cue

CJ shuts the opposing crowd up.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:43 PM PST reply actions

By grabbed

I hope Bilas means the ball. He looked tied up on the replay.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:45 PM PST reply actions

Wow, even the announcers notice the two atrocious non-calls.

Glad that the Pac-12 has their best on display for ESPN.

by anupam on Jan 28, 2012 4:53 PM PST reply actions

It's not just us

nobody has been immune from shitty refs…not even our beloved USC. At least Scott seems to recognize it about football. Somebody needs to put together a “greatest hits” of P12 basketball refs for him.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 4:55 PM PST up reply actions

It's pretty embarrassing for the conference at this point.

It’s not like this is a new problem. With more and more games on national tv next year (with the new contract), it’s only going to become even more prominent now.

by anupam on Jan 28, 2012 4:57 PM PST up reply actions

Hubert and Digger find Pac-12 officiating to be side-splitting.

Come out of commercial break convulsed in derisive laughter.

by Hawnk on Jan 28, 2012 4:58 PM PST reply actions

Ugh

these refs are awful on both ends.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 5:10 PM PST reply actions

Oh, Tony

that looked more unlucky on a replay than it did live.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 5:11 PM PST reply actions

This is just ugly

nobody is thinking. They’re trying so hard to force the tempo that they aren’t giving themselves time to analyze anything.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 5:13 PM PST reply actions

Christ almighty

MAKE A GOD DAMN FT! DON’T GIVE THIS AWAY

by PurpleHeart on Jan 28, 2012 5:57 PM PST reply actions

because

We are terrible at the line and guvea them back the ball

by CODawg on Jan 28, 2012 7:17 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

Huskies got lucky that the Zona player was dumb enough to get the blocking call

against them. They almost fell into the same problem that happened earlier this year (one timeout left and refusing to use it).

by Coach Owens on Jan 28, 2012 6:13 PM PST reply actions

They still would have had 6 seconds to get down the floor

And since UA had enough time to get back down themselves, it almost worked out for them.

by B Money on Jan 28, 2012 6:16 PM PST up reply actions

Listened to the end in the car...

I think I need to avoid driving while listening to the latest edition of the Heart Attack Huskies.

I hope we make the Tourney, but I fear we’re not going to get far if we shoot like that from the line.

Awesome win

It seems like every time we play Arizona it’s an exciting game. Having CJ back healthy makes such a big difference for our offense.

by brownypts on Jan 28, 2012 6:17 PM PST reply actions

This Dawgs Team

Can Scrap – lets get them some more pub on here – they have a real chance at winning the Pac 12.

Cmon man!

You haven’t even given me a shot to do my writeup yet! Show some patience my man. Haha

by Ben Knibbe on Jan 28, 2012 7:14 PM PST up reply actions

We aren't playing 4 on 5 anymore and I think that reflects some of these wins

Some of you will recall early in the season Aziz wasn’t even close to a scoring threat and we were basically playing 4 on 5 offensively. We found something, where he can contribute on offense. That little turn around jumper in the paint is a good starting point. He’s good for 8 points with it.

I never questioned him on the defensive side of the floor, but offensively we need a contribution from him so that the opponent couldn’t cheat over to help double up on us. Wroten has grabbed all the headlines, but in my opinion this team has come together because we’ve got something working with Aziz on both sides of the floor. Now if we can get him to at least 50 to 60% at the line, he’ll take his game to another level.

All I saw was purple

by crazidawg on Jan 28, 2012 7:42 PM PST reply actions

Huge win!

McHale is one of the most difficult arenas to play in the Pac 12. Anytime you can win there is big.

An Awesome Win for the Dawgs!

We’re finally able to gel as a cohesive unit. Teamwork was much better organized this time around. Everyone did their part, and I do mean everyone! Go Huskies!

by Jake Locker on Jan 28, 2012 8:28 PM PST reply actions

Great win for the dawgs!

We needed that one since it’s the closest thing to a signature win we have so far this year. A win on national TV in Tucson is always a tough win. Go Dawgs!
