I should be above this ... but I'm not. The Sac Bee has a poll asking which school these two highly rated recruits should pick. Here is the link. Do your duty. I'm going to take a shower now ....

Hard to imagine that their totals would have climbed so fast otherwise. UW was leading by a good margin most of the day.

someone from CAL definitely uploaded a script to the server. They added about 2000 votes within a minute. That just does not compute!!!

That’s weird. I’ve been monitoring that page from the very start and as far as I could see CAL was never in the lead (although they did add 9 thousand votes within 10 minutes). Which is obviously done via an auto-reload bot (as you mentioned kirkd).
That said, CAL is closing in though. :(

What the heck?
It was just around 27,000 for CAL only minutes ago! And we were in the lead by at least 10,000 votes. What is going on? Well, I just posted the link on my FB, and going to vote myself all night if I have to.
Now it tells me they're finally up (by almost 3K votes)
Their network admin is probably on the take. He/she most likely started restricting Washington IP addresses from adding votes, and boosted CAL votes on the other end. I am slightly perturbed. Errrrrr………
I suppose this was doomed to failure from the start.
Its a NorCal server, and it therefore favors CAL. Their admins are either stupid/incompetent or there is major favoritism going on. In either case we are SOL. Not that we could count on this poll having a significant impact come NSD in 4 days anyway. So let’s chill and have a good weekend, Husky Dawgs!

the guys that wrote the bot for the UW didn't go full bore
Once it became clear someone from Cal was cheating the vote, some UW guys wrote a bot of their own, but they only ran it about about 10% of capacity out of respect for the newspaper’s servers. Cal’s bots had no such mercy.

No joke, everytime I click on to see what happening on the blog, I see the names Armstead, Shaq, and UofW and my heart jumps up into my throat as if this is a post about both coming to UDub. I need to quick skimming over the word “vote”.

Cal fans were going absolutely apeshit over our ‘stealing’ away a coach.
This is all a matter of perspective. we’re old school Pac-x, we do not need to feel a compulsion to sweat the small details.
I’d very much like for recruits we’re hoping for to choose us, but I greatly hope we continue to be straightforward and open in our pitch.

Sometimes linemen need more time than others to really blossom. Kneip could turn out to be a scholarship-worthy player with more time in the weight room and coaching from Cozzetto. It certainly never hurts to have guys like that walking-on.
Disappointing.
Was hoping he would start a snowball effect for recruits…
