After the great success of last years contest, I've decide to once again run the conference pick 'em contest here at the Dawg Pound. Last years contest was great fun (winning doesn't hurt either), it's a lot of work, but it's the least I can do to give a little something back to this great blog.
Anybody is eligible to play, even Oregon fans. I'll even steal add Bob Condotta's numbers for comparison.
I will count all games that include a PAC-12 team, even against FCS opponents (meaning you better start in the contest early, it will help your stats).
Ideally, we will post our picks on John's story (usually Thursdays) with his picks. Feel free to post them on the previous weeks story or on my fanposts with the previous weeks results. Just put them anywhere public, and if I miss it, just bring it to my attention.
There will be two categories: Straight up - Pick who is going to win the game, and Against the Spread - Can you pick who is/is not going to cover the spread.
Spreads - If UW is picked to win by 14, and they win by 14, I consider that covering the spread. It just makes my life easier. I will use the spreads that John list in his weekly picks. If for some reason he doesn't get the story out, or doesn't list the spread, I will use a spread from a specific source. B Money (or other knowledgeable persons) - I need a back up source, any suggestions?
All picks must be in prior to kickoff. For example, if you miss a Thursday game, just give your picks for the rest of the weekend. I'll use the time stamp on your post to verify it's validity.
To be eligible to win, you must pick 80% of the games through the season. If you get a late start, it's still do able.
Here is a link to last years final results to give you an idea of what you are getting into: http://www.uwdawgpound.com/2011/1/11/1930118/pac10-pick-em-final-results
Grand Prize - A free one year subscription to UW Dawg Pound. Oh yeah, and a year of bragging rights!
Second Prize - A free kiss from your sister. (If you don't have one, a very ugly one will be assigned to you!)
Third Prize - A free WSU screensaver.
Last Place - A free screensaver featuring Chip Kelly and the ugliest Oregon Duck uniforms worn in 2011.
Good luck to everyone and GO DAWGS!!!!
