Overton doesn't make much of second chance

Former Washington basketball player Venoy Overton was arrested Thursday and booked into jail for investigation of felony promoting prostitution.

You really have to wonder how stupid this guy is. He has a degree from the UW which could set him up for life in the Puget Sound area…he just tossed it away. Nobody will want to touch this guy ever again.

If the inside story of last year's team is ever written

I wonder how much of their disappointing performance will ultimately be laid at his feet. (I still think the biggest single factor is Gaddy’s injury, but that multiplied the effect of whatever all went on with/around Overton.)

I wrote many times

That the Gaddy injury killed that team. I also said at the time of the first arrest that “best case scenario he is innocent, and this is just a big distraction”. I dont think any of us can defend this guy anymore.

They have a big following

But their writers and the community are so anal. I went to have a discussion about something and had a dissenting viewpoint, I got banned because I said something nice about USC. They are alarmist at best and I refuse to visit because of the way they treat outsiders.

If he actually did this, then I’m disappointed that we both have diplomas from the same school. I really hope that the incident in May was as far back as this goes, and that we don’t learn that he’s been doing this sort of crap for longer.

If (when?) he’s convicted, he’ll get to experience the other side of the pimp/prostitute relationship in jail.

Annoying Overton

I’m just thankful he is not a high profile student athlete at UDub. I think he was a helluva on-ball defender, but he was pretty horrible offensively, if you take out his transition offense. The kid needs to grow up and probably the best thing for all is for some European team to pick him up that way he won’t make anymore headlines.

And it just keeps getting worse for Overton....

In 2009, he apparently sent explicit texts to his then 15-year old cousing saying that he wanted to have sex with her. Police investigated, and Overton said he meant to send the texts to another woman of the same name.

I have 20-month old twin girls. I keep looking around in their room to see if Overton has sent them pictures of his junk.
