Greetings my SB Nation brothers. I am currently doing some research on Jake Locker the ex-Washington Huskie QB (Although I'm 99% sure everyone here knows who he is). Back to the topic on hand. I was wondering if anyone here had every game for the Huskies?
In case you were wondering why I am trying to prove that Jake Locker low stats are a by product of his offensive line and low supporting cast. In order to do this I will need to look over the games to make sure I am not making a bogus statement.
So if anyone have any of these games could you email them to Manrajdhesi@yahoo.com.
Thank You

Can't help w/ data, but after watching as many games as possible,
I think your hypothesis has merit.
Best Regards
Thank you
If you see any of the games around just give me a shout. Would be really helpful. Hopefully I can find all 13 games in a week or so. I already found two, Oregon State and USC.

your hypothesis as some merit - especially as far as the o-line is concerned...
… however, I don’t think anyone can deny his issues in the pocket. Saying he is “not accurate” is a bit simplistic. Jake made a lot of bad decisions early in the season. He got better with that as the season progressed, but continued to struggle with pocket passing (usually because his pocket was always collapsing). The other thing that we can’t really determine is how much his broken ribs affected his play. I’d say it was notable, but we won’t ever know for sure.

@chrislandon
Its those early games I'm missing.
The thing I noticed was that when he was throwing the ball in the pocket he didn’t have anywhere to step. Which usually caused him to spazzy.

I dunno
Not so sure about “low supporting cast” – Jermaine Kearse is an upper-tier WR and Chris Polk is a high-level RB.
I think the things that hurt Jake are:
- Below-par pass blocking;
- Virtually no TE support in the passing game;
- Little FB support in the passing game as a check-down option;
- Some inconsistencies in WR performance (a lot of drops);
- Jake himself: he’s a better passer on the run, and still struggles reading defenses in the pocket and not setting his feet properly, which affected his accuracy
So I finished two games. (Oregon St. and USC)
12 dropped passes total 3 of them were thrown away. In fact in the USC game he had 16 non completions. 6 of them were dropped and 2 were thrown away. If these were taken out of the stat line he would be 24-32 a 66% completion rating. I will have a fan post up and link it here so you guys can read it.

drops
Good stuff. Though I would caution reading too much into drops and the impact they had on Jake’s stat line without looking at college football as a whole and knowing how many passes on average are dropped. You can say Jake’s line would have been 66% completions, but if you did the same analysis for (say) Kellen Moore, how many drops did he suffer from and what would his line look like sans drops and throw-aways?
Just food for thought…
I was going to do that but I don't want to watch every game in the NCAA.
Since the draft is in April. My plan is to take out the drops and throw away as attempts.

drops plus throw aways...
… I think it is an almost certainty that Jake threw away far more passes than the average QB in the face of pass rushes. This doesn’t even count the plays where he took it and ran because of a lack of a pocket (a lot of those) despite likely having open guys down the field.

@chrislandon
no such thing as an ex-husky
unless you quit the team or do something to get kicked out of school. jake is and always will be a husky
So I have a question
Is it true that Jake took the baseball contract so that he could pay for his own schooling and another player could get the scholarship?

I think the angels picked up the financial aspects of his scholarship. i think
The University of Utah is off to the Pac-12 Conference and will be in the South Division. Hopefully we will get to the first ever Pac-12 Championship Game. Jon " Bones " Jones new light heavyweight champion. Even if jones got struck flush in the face he would recover and defeat whoever is in front of him. I told everyone the fight would be easy. Almost felt sorry for Rua. Anderson Silva would never fight "Bones".

could be
Jake liked baseball as a hobby, but football has always been his passion. Wouldn’t surprise me if he looked at the situation and thought “Hey, if these guys want to throw money at me, and I’m not required to spend a whole lot of time playing baseball and being away from off-season football drills, why not?”
I’m not so sure he had a specific plan in mind with regards to pro baseball, just that he looked at the opportunity being presented and took a deal that he couldn’t pass up.
The game watching is done. Now it's write up time.
