It's Apple Cup week and that only means ONE THING...wait, what is that again?
In the weeks preceding this year's edition of the Apple Cup against the Washington State Cougars, this game faced many factors that would have made it the most meaningful Apple Cup in years. The Huskies, sitting at 6-4, had a chance to finish the regular season at 8-4, smashing the predictions of most en route to a respectable Bowl game. The Cougars, also sitting pretty with a shiny new quarterback and a 4-6 record, had a chance to make a Husky-esque run (circa 2010) at their first bowl game in a while after upsetting the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Now, the Huskies are on a 3 game losing skid and simply want to avoid the same fate of the 2010 Arizona Wildcats. The Cougars will be celebrating their Holiday weekend without Halliday at QB, and will again post a sub-.500 record.
So with all of the drama surrounding this Apple Cup seemingly lost, what does this game mean to you? Why would a Husky (or Cougar) victory/loss mean something to you?
