USC has speed on D no doubt
We’ve got to play fast
Is Price having confidence issues?
He just hasn’t looked like that smiling kid we saw earlier
I think it's just a matter of teams being able to adjust
our first 3-4 opponents had minimal film on him. He adds a dynamic that Jake couldn’t and now the opposing staffs are catching up.
Note to self
Don’t say anything.

That was a most deliberative TD call.
Plenty of time for the old squirm and wriggle forward slow-mo gimme touchdown.
D is showing up just fine...
…not much you can do about missed holding calls and missed calls for O-PI.
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.

What's up the play calling?
Are we going to dink and dunk our way?
Our losses this year in Pac play

This team struggles with any team that has speed
We’ve got to recruit more. We’re not getting the proper looks in practice is my guess.
3 drives, two runs, 5 passes behind the line of scrimmage

This was a real crap half of football.
Defense playing hard. ASJ is a stud. Everything else? Crap.
Terrible.
What else can you say? Outplayed. Price’s worst game yet. Polk has been invisible. This is a very flat husky offense. The D put in a lot of effort out there but the O would go 3 and out so fast that the D gets no rest or satisfaction from their effort.

I'm worried about the Beavers.
The offense has fallen into a serious funk.
Along those lines...
We only beat WSU last year because we outscored them. If we can’t get our offense going that game is in serious doubt.
And now, for my very elaborate and college-educated plan!'
This game was over the second our DE missed that gift interception.
We’ve had 0 momentum and unless Sark gives the best half time speech of all time I’m not sure we’re ever close to being in this again.
Take Out A Few Things
Fake punt. Horrible call with ASJ.
It’s a close game.
Steps baaaaack! OOOOH at the buzzer! Young! Zeke!
That was an incomplete pass.
What I didn’t like is that the refs wasted 15 seconds deciding to rule it a fumble recovered by ASJ and then telling the entire stadium about it, thereby giving the replay official plenty of time to look at it.
Looking for positives?
At this rate Polk won’t break Napoleon’s career rushing record. Per his words, maybe he’ll be back?

Price was folded like cardboard.
wtf is up with this line?
"Attending Washington State is great preparation for real life. It teaches you not to expect too much."
Amazing how this season has turned
from deep concern about the defense to serious concern about the offensive line.
And now, for my very elaborate and college-educated plan!'
we've always been concerned about the o-line
… but we were enchanted with how “Keith buys time in the pocket and keeps plays alive”
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.
@chrislandon
Even when Price was playing lights out I was concerned about the O-line
He had twice as many sacks as any of the other QB’s up in the top 10.
The line has allowed nearly as many sacks as ALL of the 2008 season.
"Attending Washington State is great preparation for real life. It teaches you not to expect too much."
The O-line is young. It’s starting to get late in the season. They must be tired and worn down. Stick with them. Let them get more experience before you bash them

I was totally excited coming into this year about the prospect of an 8 win season...
… but to get dominated by anything resembling a decent opponent was not the method I had in mind.
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.
@chrislandon
We can't surprise good teams anymore.
Now that we actually have a respectable record, teams don’t look past us and prepare for us, leading to the domination.
There is some truth to this.
And now, for my very elaborate and college-educated plan!'
Agreed
Yes nice point anupam. Now that we have a winning record, the other teams are preparing harder for us. Maybe they are now trying harder too? I wouldn’t be surprised if they were practicing even more than normal the week before facing us. This can be easily over-looked by the fans
by OhandTwelve on Nov 13, 2011 12:49 AM PST up reply actions
At the beginning of the season I was worried that our D
never seemed to rise up and play above it’s talent level. Now it seems more like whenever we play a better opponent on paper one big part of our team doesn’t show up. D-Line, secondary, O-line, QB. We have had failures in multiple areas this season.
And now, for my very elaborate and college-educated plan!'
Wait a minute
8 wins is not guaranteed. We will be favored, but it’s not for sure.
9 total wins with the bowl game would help me feel better about the season. But how are you gonna get dominated by every formidable team?
I don’t want to get lumped into Jerry Brewer’s notion of the fan who responds to losses with, in his words, “maniacal overreaction,” but I really do think Holt needs to go. And Sark might want to think about handing the playcalling duties to someone else.

Time to learn lawyer things.
Now that the league has figured out how to combat Price,

I think Porter and Kohler have earned spots on the bench at Oregon State.
… and I’m not thrilled with Kelemete’s constant tangling of his feet resulting in tumbles to the ground.

@chrislandon
Kelemente has horrible feet for a tackle
He has the most awkward falls i’ve seen at the position. He really needs to learn how to shuffle his feet with a wider base.
Have you noticed that our offensive line, on pass plays, is 3 yards in the backfield before they throw a block? Watch USC, they stand straight up and block.
Yes but it's because
USC has a more experienced defense than ours. More Ammo… Stronger guns… Bigger bullets… What’s the saying I’m looking for?
We all knew that
but again, it’s like clockwork. Husky fans continue to resort to blaming the players. Why haven’t the coaches done a better job of recruiting CBs their first two years on the job?

The Husky fan base, or at least the tone I’m getting from this board, is eerily similar to the tone I felt during the Willingham years. Haven’t we learned anything from that debacle?
Q: Why hasn’t Willingham recruited better?
A: We have been so down the past few years
Q: Why are Ty’s teams getting blown out so often

Ok I’ll start:
For one, we have beat USC 2 of the past 3 years
Ty Willingham
Was a minority. He was facing many obstacles that some cannot understand. He was a man of integrity. I wish Sark valued program integrity as much as Willingham
I've been thinking the same thing all year
i expected him to play like the experienced 4th year player he is but apparently thats too much to ask.

QRich played possibly the best defense he has all year on that pass to Woods

I agree
but how often can you continue to keep blaming the players for giving up? Wouldn’t you feel like giving up after that terrible first half?
At what point does the responsibility of getting your players ready to play and keeping them motivated during the game fall onto the coaches? After 3 years of a rebuilding job? 4 years? 5 years?
All I’m saying is that it’s a slippery slope and we’ve been down it before.
by PurpleHaze11 on Nov 12, 2011 3:35 PM PST up reply actions
you are really sideways on this...
… the motivation issue would be pinned on the coaches if it was an epidemic. The fact that guys like Cort, Sean, Shamburger, Kasen, Polk and Tru came with their hard hats on tell us that many players are getting the message. SOmetimes, some players just don’t get it. it happens.
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.
@chrislandon

If those players “don’t get it,” then why weren’t the coaches able to find this out while watching film of the recruits and meeting them in person?

There is no reason we shouldn’t beat OSU and WSU is still better than a 50% chance. That really sucked, but honestly, this was expected. The only shocking outcome this year so far was Stanford.
