This topic has come up on a couple of threads, but I wanted to really get a feel for where Husky Nation stands. Which is the lesser of two evils? Is there any way both teams can lose? A massive number of injuries resulting in neither team able to field 11 players, perhaps?
In all seriousness, the logic-driven side of my brain wants the Ducks to win. Having a Pac team win the national title would positively impact the TV contract the Pac-12 eventually gets. In addition, it would support the Sagarin Ratings that state we are the best conference in the nation, and knock the SEC down a peg or two. I know the SEC is a great conference, but no 12-team conference should have 10 bowl bound teams. Another contributing factor for why I am rooting against Auburn is how the NCAA and the media will apparently bend over backward to make up excuses for Cam Newton. The reason? So that they can keep cashing in on his play. However, when they investigate a player who has already gone on to the NFL, they drag him through the mud.
Having said all of that, the part of me that bleeds purple simply refuses to root for the team in green and yellow (or whatever bizarre colors they have on). I guess I'm hoping for a competitive, exciting, down to the wire game that leaves the Pac looking good. However, when the game clock reads 0:00, I want our friends from Eugene to have come up just short and leave them without a bowl victory to cap off the best season in their program's history. How about you?
