Puppy Chow
The Husky basketball team fell on the road against Stanford last night 58-56 in a close defensive struggle. Justin Holiday could have put it into overtime by hitting two free throws at the end but couldn't sink them. The game wasn't on TV but the press described it as a night when Washington wasn't clicking. This was obviously one that got away.
Up next is tough game with Cal on Saturday. The Bears beat WSU last night in Berkeley.
Recruiting
I figured that recruiting news would start to pick up this week but there really isn't much news going on out there. CB Kameron Jackson is visiting Colorado so he has become a soft commit. The Huskies are in on a QB from Florida by the name of Jacoby Brissett. OL Marcus Henry from Bellevue HS was offered by the Huskies. He is currently committed to Boise State.
Bronson decides to transfer
RB Demetrius Bronson has left the team in search for more playing time. Who knows? We may see him back in town this September when Eastern Washington rolls into town. The Eagles just happen to have a need at the position with Taiwan Jones deciding to head to the NFL.
All Star Invites
Ryan Tolar and Cody Habben are going to be playing in an all star game in Phoenix. They were both added to the rosters of the Eastham Energy All Star game on January 23rd.
Mason Foster was named to ESPN's 2010 All Bowl Team. Ted Miller has his Pac 10 version led by Chris Polk, Senio Kelemete, Cody Habben, Mason Foster, Vic Aiyewa, and Nate Fellner.

eastham energy all star game?
they must be really desperate for players
The Eastham Energy College All Star Game presented by Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino will be the first time ever that the Phoenix area will host this event and their residents will have a chance to view Tomorrow’s NFL stars up close and personal.

"Stars"
I think by “stars” they mean “possible practice squad players and occasional backups if everything goes really well.”
At least if their selection of Tolar and Habben is anything to go by.
No "R" News Yet?
If that is indeed the case, then I’m becoming optimistic. When it comes to things like this, the longer it takes for an arrest and criminal charge to show up, the less likely there will ever be one. Of course, this also means no person was abused… most hopefully.
My fingers are all crossed!
Don't forget Ta'amu. Or Jamora.
It was pretty cool – Miller selected more Huskies than any of the other three conference schools that made bowls.
Ta’amu was the best player on the field in the Holiday Bowl, in my opinion. Foster was very good and played up to the high expectations that he set throughout the season, but Ta’amu was great and really raised the bar for next season.
We had the most impressive win IMHO.

Rewards are nice
All Bowl team is an interesting concept and it speaks well for next year. There were only 4 teams to choose from, and one phoned it in, but they were the best 4 teams in the league. Ta’amu and Jamora really came on at the end of the season. Too bad the big guy wasted his first 2 years. I think those wasted years for all our players have come to an end.
The bowl also helped Habben and Tolar, good luck to them.
Bronson…during Sark’s first spring camp he seemed to be the top RB, he looked much better than any of Ty’s guys, that eventually left except for the Greased Rhino. As for Polk, he had an unknow leg injury and looked like a slot, not RB, to me. Time was kinder to one more than the other. If he does go to Eastern, it will be interesting to see if he hangs on to the ball in Huskey stadium.
Wasted Years
It would be nice if all frosh could redshirt. Ty’s final year was a free for all of wasted eligibility.
I think the days of redshirting an entire class are over because of the 85 limit. Still I would like to see the linemen redshirt every single season. No way we could do that the last couple of years but I can see it happening starting in 2011.
Bronson….he had his shots to play but he fumbled the ball too much. I think he will do well at Eastern.
