Mr Pac-10's Season Preview: Washington / Washington St
...
Bottom Line:
Last year improvement was obvious, given a healthy Jake Locker and the total outlier season that 2008 was. In 2010, though, further improvement will be difficult. This team should be better than they were last year, but their schedule will be tougher, and there’s no guarantee that Locker will have another full season of health. If everything breaks right, this could be an 8-9 win team, but if things break wrong, their record could actually take a step back. The guess here is six wins, but I wouldn’t be surprised by anything between four and eight wins.

schedule
While I think Matt is being a little pessimistic about some of the areas on the team, I do think the schedule isn’t doing us a lot of favors this year. It’s entirely conceivable this team could start the season 1-3, which would mean gut-check time vs. ASU: win and have a chance to still have a decent season, or lose and risk the season swirling down the toilet. Fortunately, I don’t think ASU is going to be any better this year than they were last year, but you never know.
This team needs to be firing on all cylinders early. Winning the opener in Provo is going to go a long way towards giving this team the confidence boost it will need to maximize their potential.
