on your "Quick Request"

I kind of find it insulting that you feel the need to post that with comments off.  I realize I get drunk and post some inane things from time to time, and while I realize it wasn't directed toward me, I haven't seen any evidence that any other posters lean toward the level of vitriol that you for some reason expect.

It's just not that big of a deal.  To me, it's just a kid taking a leap at the instant stardom golden ring.  He'll likely be disappointed, but it is what it is.  We've got a good thing going here at UW regardless.  Enjoy it.  This place has always been a venue for intelligent discussion and warning us like we're children just got under my skin a bit.  I truly appreciate you contributions to this site cassino so please don't take this in the wrong way.  Just give us some credit.

Go Dawgs!

It's not that I expected it, or wanted to treat anybody like children

Personally nothing annoys me more than when rival schools fans run over here to gloat the moment something happens. I think we should be held to a higher standard than that, and the request wasnt for the majority, it was for the fringe. I think that the people who comment here frequently are above doing that, but our commenters are a very small percentage of the fanbase. You’re right that the readership here is great, and it probably didn’t need to be said, but I just wanted to take that extra step to try to make sure it didnt happen.

And honestly I’m not really sure why I turned the comments off. Maybe nerves about the whole situation or something. Dunno. The brain is a mystery.

If anyone from Sea Of Blue comes over here acting like a jerk cassino, just point them out to us.

We dont tolerate it on our site, and try to promote fair behavior on all sites in this network.

I view this drama

as a positive for Romar as it kept the UW on the national stage for a bit. It’s not often UW recruiting, BB or FB, gets national attention. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones isn’t a “one and done”.

If you'd gone over to the Kentucky blog

You would’ve seen a lot of ill-mannered and a very immature fan base from Kentucky. I did not respond to the Kentucky bloggers simply because I thought they were instigating us and trying to egg on with all forms of bullsh—t! However if you’d gone over there you would’ve been proud of some of our Husky bloggers. Two that I noticed was kirkd and BMoney. Both represented Washington bloggers very well.

In the end none of us are pefect, I think now and then others might get under our skin and we may react, nothing out of the norm in the blogosphere. Yet I think we are unique, we are a passionate fan base that can discuss the sport intellectually rather then come off like a bunch of juvenile a holes from other schools.

and how do you categorize our people as being ill-mannered and immature?

www.aseaofblue.com has been complimented by fan bases from our most despised opponents to former players to fans from all walks of life about how well we treat other folks from rival schools. None of your UW posters have been treated badly, one had a slight, and I do mean slight difference with a member who was admonished for even using anything other than the most complimentary of terms. We are not a bunch of instigating asses as your post would lead others to believe. This Jones situation is going to stir some emotional responses from both sides, and that is fine, but labelling a site like you have is very unflattering as a reflection not only on your post, but on your fanbase as well. We were even invited over here to make some intelligent points about competition between the 2 schools by a very complimentary individual, and we have been well received for the most part, just as your visitors were well received on our site.

yeah - you don't really want to get into it with Crazi.

… he’s kind of like that all the time.

Damn, my eyeball tastes good.

Does "butt buddy" ring a bell?

Kentucky fans should remember these are student-athletes who are no older the 18. Go back thru that thread. I’d be absolutely embarrassed if that sort of behavior was showcased on UW Dawg Pound. John does a great job of deleting assine posts.
