Curtis Shaw moving on

RB Curtis Shaw became the latest player to leave the program today when it was announced that he intended to transfer to a smaller school to get a chance for playing time. Shaw played immediately as a freshman then took a year off to resolve personal problems before returning to the roster last season.

Curtis is blessed with great speed but he didn't have the wiggle waggle which forced defenders to miss. He fumbled a kick off return against Idaho last season and never found a niche for regular playing time after that. The writing has been on the wall for awhile with two highly touted frosh coming in this spring to compete.

Best wishes to Curtis

Never were able to find that position for him. Tried at slot/hback to get him on field as Fr. Took a year off for reasons we will never know, and then when he came back, wasn’t able to make his mark on STs. Like you said tho, john, if he would have been able to hold onto the ball when given that chance things might have turned out differently. Anyway, wishing him the best wherever he decides to go play.

That's what I thought too

Personal problems isn’t exactly accurate. If I recall he left the team to deal with “family matters” in California, but we never heard exactly what that meant.

Lear, from one pilot to another

personal problems … family matters… Is almost the same as “now this is what I do but you can do what you want”, yeah right!

I actually know what happened regarding Curtis and personal problems are an apt description. I also can’t elaborate on them.

He seemed...

…to be a better fit at the WR position. Oh well good luck Curtis!

Lost in the wash...

I wish the kid luck and that’s how it goes when you are out of sight-out of mind. Sark is in charge of restoring Husky football and he doesn’t have time dealing with personal issues that are still a mystery to most.

All I saw was purple

One Shot

Coach Sark didnt give Shaw a chance to show what he could after the fumble. He likes Polk but you wont win the big ones with him. Polk is trash!!

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
