Canzano reporting Bellotti Resigning as AD

John Canzano is reporting that Mike Bellotti is resigning as Athletic Director and taking a job at ESPN as a college football analyst starting  with the Auburn Spring Game on April 17th.  Looks like Chip Kelley is on his own now.  I wonder how much the latest events at Oregon have had to do with this? Maybe he's being held accountable for the last year.  Was this driven by Phil Knight?  Get ready for the new era of Oregon football.

Stuff is getting really scummy at Oregon

Can the ducks catch a break? Stuff just keep unraveling for Oregon. How the hell can all this be happening to a team that just came off a Rose Bowl season? I think it is safe to say that Bellotti bailed fast. And the answer is still vague as to why. I think their are only two logical reasons why Mike Bellotti walked away from Oregon.

1. He wants to be a head football coach again, and sitting in as an AD at Oregon will do nothing for his resume. Stay on as an administrator and eventually folks will forget about you as a legit candidate for top jobs.

2. Considering all the negative publicity Oregon has been receiving over the offseason, is it just me or is this thing about to boil over rather fast? When you have this much negative stuff going on, isn’t it possible that something rather dirty is eventually going to come out? Maybe their are multiple infractions pertaining to NCAA violations just waiting out there that have yet to leak. Maybe Bellotti knows about some major infractions and got out quickly before any of it was attached to his resume.

Scenario No.2 has to be considered. Because how weird has it been for Oregon to push Bellotti out, who is the most successful duck coach ever and instead go with an unknown commdity with a guy name Chip? With Bellotti Oregon had credibility. With Chip they are wreckless, aloof, arrogant, and dumb. With that said, I have to consider the possiblity of scenario No.2.

All I saw was purple
