March Madness Poll

How deep will Washington go in the big dance this season?

Nobody out there expects Washington to last very long in this years tournament. They all say the Pac 10 is weak and they have a point since only two Pac 10 teams are dancing this season. All that being said I think the Huskies are peaking at just the right time.

Marquette is a battle tested opponent from an elite conference but I think this game is going to go down to the wire. For some reason I think Washington will surprise the experts this season and advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Anyone will tell you that if you get that far anything can happen. Once the momentum starts building a cinderella from a major conference can keep advancing if they play their cards right.

So what do you guys think?

Is Washington a one and out team like ASU was in the NIT last night or are they going to do something special and keep us all on the edge of our seats for the next couple of weeks?

Round of 16

Yep, that is where I have them too. I just don’t see them getting by West Virginia though…

WVU is a scary team

I got them in the 2nd weekend as well. MU is a good matchup for us, and with our perimeter defense I think we can shutdown UNM.

That is, if West Virginia gets there

Playing Missouri on short notice is a nightmare.

I think they make it to 16

and if their confidence grows, anything’s possible. Confidence is what I feel has taken the team this far and what will define the rest of the season.

Some notable alumni:

Joel McHale has us going all the way.
Bobby Jones thinks we’re an Elite 8 team.

Looks like Danny Pudi (Abed from Community) is an MU guy

From his twitter

Community Bracket Buster! It’s Marquette (me) vs. Washington (@joelmchale) this Thursday. A bag of coffee is on the line!

OT: but that might be my favorite new show

I think we are playing well – I like our bracket – match ups and location. Sweet sixteen a good possibility. GO HUSKIES

Floor/ceiling?

Floor: 1 and done.
Ceiling: Sweet 16 and done? I’ve gotta think WVU (if they get there) would be a tough matchup.

WVA

Win or lose to get that far would be a real recruiting tool for a team not expected to go to the dance.
Has any one heard of Terrence Jones and Terrence ______ supposedly headed the UW way as a package?

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
