WOW!

They can wear those on the road? I guess they can, now that I’m thinking about it, they usually wear purple on the road. GO DAWGS!! GET SOME!!

Pretty good start

Intensity is there. Gaddy involved early, and Venoy makes a play as soon as he enters. Isaiah needs to hit some shots though.

Ugh...

these refs are gonna kill us again. They just called TB for a block when the Cal player had pretty clearly not started his move to the basket. They’re transition defense is terrible tonight too.

Dear coach

Play this lineup: Thomas, Suggs, Holiday, Pondexter, Breshers

Thanks.

IT has 3 pf's now

Cal is getting some retarded shots to fall and some retarted fouls called alongside them.

We need to quit pulling up for jumpers and get them in foul trouble, or at least get Boykin and Christopher in trouble.

And MBA misses em' both...

I’d almost rather have that green out back on the screen so I don’t have the choice to watch this.

And for the love of god

why are we playing 2-3 zone against a shooting team like Cal?

Now 1-3-1?

Halftime...

I’m gonna have a beer or six. Hopefully we can popoff to start the half.

Side note: Luke Harangody has an enormous head.

Yep. I think this team is going winless on the road.

What a wasted season. We are in desperate need of a big man.

Not at home.

I'd really love it

if the refs would be consistent in any way.

They keep calling everything on UW in the key or on a shot, but all Cal’s fouls seem to be off the ball.

by B Money on Feb 11, 2010 7:30 PM PST reply actions

They're not moving the ball on offense

and not moving at all on defense.

How many times can help defense break down in one game?

I just don't get it

So much standing around on offense

I want to be a hippie, but I forgot how to love.

Piss poor first 30 minutes tonight...

No energy. It’s like they don’t realize that every game is a big game from here on out.

So from here they have to run the table with 3 of 5 on the road? Looks like it’s mid seed in the NIT for us. I won’t call for Romar’s head for another year or two, but this seasons shortcomings seem to have alot to do with our lack of big men.

Even with Garcia

a roster without a player over 6’9" isn’t gonna cut it. Our only good post scorer is too short, and our tallest player is too soft.

I think we need a true 6’11" or taller center who can defend these guys consistently.

we could win the tourney...

and I think with the play of some of these bubble Big East teams we could sneak in as a 2nd bid if we win out.

When faced with a must-win game, the Huskies chose Option Forfeit. Again.

Shape up guys!

No point in shaping up the season is over. No way in hell are we winning the Pac-10 tournament.

I would love it if we did…but gotta be realistic. Road losses stop being a fluke after you accumulate 7 of them.

Why did gaddy not get a lot of pt?

by AllEyezOnMe on Feb 11, 2010 10:09 PM PST reply actions

Well here's to next season I guess.

I’ll still watch the rest of the games but we’re officially out of the NCAA tournament. Even if we run the table, which we won’t, I don’t think that’s good enough given tonight’s loss. The way the season has played out tonight’s game was truly do or die and the dawgs are dead.

Also, since the Pac-10 tournament isn’t held in Hec Ed we have a 0% chance of winning it. So frustrating given the potential and talent on this roster, I put the blame on the players for not performing, Romar tried but shit happens. Season is officially over…how much longer until opening day at Safeco?

Give Cal Credit

We hit our free throws and we didn’t have a lot of turnovers. Cal just flat out beat us. I thought Cal did a better job of sharing the sugar and their floor spacing was a great indicator of that. We don’t space the floor very well, mainly due to us being a transition style team.

For all those crying for a bigman, let’s look at that. We are a transition team and if we were to use a bigman in this offense, he’d have to be able to run the floor very well. So recruiting a bigman is a pretty tough task. Bigmen that can run don’t grow on trees. So if we can’t get a true bigman, then surely we need to develop the bigmen we can get and I don’t think we’ve done that very well. But I’ll take a team ranging from 6’4" to 6’8" in a heart beat if we can RUN and SCORE [see Roy and Robinson eras].

I think our early scheduling has more to do with our road losses then anything else. I just don’t see us using our early nonleague schedule to our benefit. I think it would be beneficial to play nonleague games at places like in the WAC, Mountain West, and WCC (minus Gonzaga), lete’m pout even more. But somewhere we have to develope some sort of blueprint on how to be effective on the road and I personally think our early scheduling does not offer that blueprint.

But I am not going to dis Cal over this loss. They played an exceptionally great game and won.

Not a big fan of the black uniforms as they are

Not sure if it was the uniforms, the heigth of the ESPN camera, or the dim and dark Cal arena. But the average college basketball fan watching the game couldn’t tell who was playing, unless their was a close-up shot on a Washington player.

If we intend on using “promotional” black uniforms then I think we need to add more purple and gold to the black. All I saw was black uniforms and the average fan can’t tell who we are. Keep in mind that the black uniforms are promotional uniforms, but what is being promoted if you can’t tell who is playing? Major oxymoron if you ask me.

I Like the black uniforms, but they do very little in regards to promoting with the amount of purple and gold- add more purple and gold to the black uniforms.
