Huskies take down Portland 94-72
Two years ago the Huskies opened the season with a loss on the road to the pesky Portland Pilots. This season the Pilots visited Hec Ed and pitched a second half scare at UW. The Huskies blew an 18 point second half lead before regrouping to pull away with a 94-72 win.
Justin Holiday scored a career-high 20 points and Isaiah Thomas had 20 points and seven rebounds to lead Washington to victory. The 21st ranked Huskies improve to 6-2 and are a perfect 5-0 at home. Up next for the Dawgs is a tough away game at Texas A&M on Saturday. It will be Washington's first test in a hostile environment.

This team sure does love the three ball.
Almost 40% of their field goal attempts came beyond the arc, and a lot of them were very early in the shot clock. That’s fine, when you shoot over 50% like the Dawgs did yesterday. But that can be a fickle shot, and when they aren’t dropping, or the Dawgs are playing a longer, more athletic team, I sure hope they can resist the urge to keep putting them up.
Good luck on Saturday
The rest of the conference would like you to do well!

vs. Portland
The loss to open the season at Portland happened 2 seasons ago – last year we stomped them in Hec Ed, 89-54.
They were a little flat last night, but they picked things up after Portland made their run midway through the second half and put it out of reach. This team is so entertaining to watch with their active defense, their hustle, the fast breaks, the 3-point shooting – when they are rolling, I’m not sure they can’t beat any team in the country.

I am having a crappy editorial week.

It still seems like last year
Nice to see Luke Sikma get a double double, but I don’t think he plays much if he was a Dawg.
My biggest disappointment
about the game not being on here is that I would have liked to see him play.
