The Final Line - Washington 31 Oregon State 28
These are two pretty evenly matched teams on paper and the Vegas odds makers have this one as a pick em for good reason. Washington's success as usual hinges on the performance of Jake Locker who should be a lot healthier this weekend according to reports. If Washington can get the mobile pocket thing rolling again the Beaver defense which has struggled at this time this season may have some problems.
I am picking the Huskies because the game is at home and I have been told Jake is healthy. This team has a history of battling back after a defeat since Sark has been here and this is a must win game for Washington and its bowl hopes. I think Locker has a big day through the air and the Husky defense once again while not pretty puts us in the position to win the game in the fourth quarter.

GEKKO, JAKE, THE GAME
Posted these comments on another blog on a wonderful uplifting letter from Husky Fans to JAKE LOCKER.
GEKKO wonderful letter
Heartily endorsed by this longtime Husky fan who has been following since the fifties and seen them all since 1960.
Jake,
you are truly the man of this and every other century and I wish they would install you as a Husky Legend on your last home game.
the game Another comment on those who say we Huskies/Jake don’t win enough games:
"it’s not who wins or loses but how you play the game!"
Grantland Rice I think and I might not have the exact quote. But I admittedly make mistakes.
The Locker Letter
I think that Jake Locker has been blamed for the woes of an entire program. He was expected to pull it out of its lowest point, maybe by himself. As a quarterback he’s the face of the wins and losses. His stats don’t tell the story of the sub-PAC level recruiting, undersized lines, dropped balls and questionable coaching (early on) though. The guy’s running for his life, trying to hit receivers that aren’t open and prone to drops, and he’s being ripped apart on the blogs for his completion percentage. He’s made all kinds of decisions that demonstrate incredible loyalty to the UW football program, even when he hasn’t had every reason in the world to do so. UW fans need to cut the guy some slack — expect great things from him, but don’t think for a second that you have the skills to be in the same position and do as well or better. When he’s in the NFL, where the talent on all the teams is closer to equal, you’ll see him do very well.
Great letter Gekko.
Bame is in the Past
Blame for the fall of Husky football goes further back then Jake’s Letter of Intent Day. If you blame Locker for what we see on college football saturdays then you are a moron. Blame depth and quality at every position on the field to folks who ran the program into the ground. I’m talking coaches, administrators, department heads, and presidents.
All I saw was purple

Perhaps the ultimate Crazi post.

take the beevs
jake is healthy until after we lose and the doog excuses about his health are yelped, so i’m taking the beevs now. this team has a history of battling back… actually this team has no history but to lose more than it wins, so again i’ll take the beevs. if it comes down to a play or two, then i’ll take riley over Sark every day of the week.
I'm confused
So you’re going to be an OSU fan? They have their own fan blog. And which team has a history of losing more than it wins … UW or OSU? Because UW’s all time record is 656 – 398 – 50, while OSU’s is 495 – 531 – 50. So you’re going with the Beavs because you think they lack expectations? And if the Huskies beat the Beavs, do you think anyone over at OSU might bring up that James Rogers was out? Please, by all means, switch your team allegiance.
Given the context of JB's post, it sounds like he's picking them to win.
Not to root for. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with him, but I think you’re reading something that isn’t there.
you're right
you’re right Jeff… I guess I didn’t notice that this was a closed group for only those who extol the incredible promise of Husky football despite a decade of reality.
This is just a cheer leading forum
until they lose again and again.
It’s not much different from the Willingham cheerleaders in his 1st and 2nd year…
question Norm
You know what’s different from Willingham’s first two years? Better win/loss record, more highly touted recruits, more excitement around the program. Is Sark perfect? Of course not. Is the program where we want it to be? Not yet, but there are some positive signs. Is it better off than when Ty was running things? Without question.
So my question is this – what exactly would you have the powers that be at the UW do?
norm could do better than Sark...
… After all, he won the national championship in NCAA 11.
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.

I did too!
I could use $2 million per year, I better send in my resume to the UW administration!!

Norm never comments after a win or when something goes right. Some folks only thrive on the negatives.

not to mention his very questionable comments regarding race during the Ty debacle in 2008
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.
Not to mention a new stadium in the wings...
This program is laying the foundation to do big things.

Sark already has more wins in his 2nd year than Ty did
Sark is now 8-10 in his 2nd season. Ty had 7 wins total in his first two years, and Sark still has 6, or hopefully 7 more games to go this season.
So really? Not much different than the Ty cheerleaders in his 1st and 2nd years? Really?
"doog"?
WTF is up with these stupid nicknames? I don’t know what you guys think “doog” means, but I’m sure I’ll hate it as much as the idiotic “negadawg”/“posidawg” nonsense. I’m so tired of this petty business of some fans thinking they’re better than others because they are more cynical.

or vice versa. I don’t care if you are a cup half full or cup half empty Husky fan, all that matters is that you support the Huskies. Support them by buying tickets, clothing, food, being a Tyee, or at the very least watching them on TV. Just make sure you’re adding some money to the UW coffers, that’s the best we as fans can do to give the UW all available tools to make us champions again.
GO DAWGS.
