Long time voice of the Seattle Sonic's Bob Blackburn passed today at 85 years old. Bob was the voice of OSU sports before getting his longtime gig with the Sonics....he will be missed.

Kevin Calabro who took over for him was and was pretty good but I prefer Blackburn...sort of like asking if you like Leo Lassen over Dave Niehuas or Bill Schonely.

Bill Schonely  is actually still alive and kicking. His son and I were good friends during pee-wee football in Seattle during our early early years. As for Bob I will never forget the call of the game when the expansion Sonics beat the Cetics by 48 points!

Just this week SU gave the same sort of unlikely treatment to OSU...I guess that is where legends begin.
