Jim Mora with Huskies?

Now that Jim Mora Jr. is out of a job, what do you think of him maybe coming to coach for the Huskies? He obviously wouldn't be the HC or DC, but maybe a secondary coach? Mora is a defensive specialist so I don't think he would be in the running for any offensive positions.

If Mora bought a house in Seattle (which would be likely because he was given a big contract with the Seahawks), I think he might be inclined to stay in the area. He was quoted as saying that coaching for the Huskies would be, "his dream job." I know he wouldn't get the position he wants most (HC), but staying in Seattle might sound pretty appealing to him.

Thoughts, anyone?

I can think of three things that will happen before then...

1) Steve Kelly wins a Pulitzer
2) Lear and Crazi bury the hatchet
3) UW changes school colors to powder blue and orange

Mora has had two opportunities to come back to UW and has turned them both down. He is not and never will be a college guy.

Damn, my eyeball tastes good.

Oh BS Lear!

Man! You really tick me off MAN! How do you come to that sort of conclusion? You’re just stuck in your old outdated ways. C’mon Lear wake the hell up!

Note: this is a joke [see Gekko’s post and refer to the second category]

Sorry Lear … couldn’t resist

I knew you were kidding!

You might be a USC fan in disguise, but not even you are dumb enough to like WSU or their colors!!!!

Not going to happen, not unless something big changes.

First off, there aren’t any openings on the UW staff.

Second, Mora will first look for a job as a defensive coordinator in the NFL. Short of that, he’ll probably take a job as a secondary coach in the NFL. I have a hard time seeing Mora taking a college job – he’s an NFL coach. He had his opportunity to coach the UW and passed, and at this point his prospects of getting another head coaching job are slim. He’ll have to work his way back up, and it still might never come.

Got to agree with kirkd

He’s an NFL guy and will be looking for an NFL defensive coordinator position.

If I were Jim Mora, I’d take my $12 million, invest it and live off of it for the rest of my life. Then I’d find a local high school looking for a head coach. Take the money, make it work for you, then take an easy job with far less stress and a lot more time for your family.

I could see Mora at UW

Jim is going to be paid $4 million over the next four years so his level of urgency isn’t really huge. He has been in the NFL for a long time so money isn’t a huge issue at this point of his lie.

So lets say Holt joined Carroll and the Sehawks I could see Jimmy becoming a DC at UW to keep his family in Seattle.

That being said I don’t think it is going to happen.

Mora at USC

Any chance Mora could interview at USC? He has NFL experience and is a West Coast guy? I think the top USC canidates aren’t biting yet….

I suspect he’d be a ways down their list – at this point I think they target Del Rio, and if that doesn’t work out they make a run at Sark, and if that doesn’t work then maybe Herm Edwards.

Del Rio was sent a contract last night

This was written last night by Scott Wolf of the LA Daily News.

Sounds like a bunch of what if’s at this point rather than a done deal.

If your a Husky fan in a perfect world they sign Del Rio. The reason that I say that if they do not with a number of candidates already off the table it becomes more of a free or all that could potentially suck Sark into the mix.

I don't like it!

I think the chemistry the coaching staff has under Sarkisian is going to transcend to great things soon. We don’t need many distractions going forward.

Is the Pete Carroll thing a distraction? Not yet anyway. But if Carroll comes up and takes a few Husky assistant coaches it could be.

I think the “coach in waiting” was a very odd thing to offer Mora Jr. I have a conspiracy theory floating around inside my head, but for now I am going to keep it to myself. Hint: was Mora “really” the coach in waiting" or was it a big smoke and mirror? Dono … but I do like a good conspiracy theory now and then.
