Johri Fogerson moves to TB
Sophomore Johri Fogerson who was listed as a co starter at safety has been switched to TB to help out with the depth at the postion. Washington was only down to four TB's so somebody had to move over and Fogerson ended up being the choice.

Batts?
I hope this means that Batts is looking good for being qualified and ready to play. I read that Walker has surprised at Safety as well so Batts, Walker and some other players may just offer the depth we need.
Johri was a pretty good runner at O’Dea ..maybe he prefers this move.
Very interesting
Not sure how I feel about the move. On one hand, if Batts is in, we could be deep at FS having Wells, Batts, Logan and Walker. It could easily be that Johri wants to play RB, but it sure looks like Sark prefers Polk as the main RB, so it could be easy for Johri to get lost in the depth chart.
My biggest concern is that they pick a position for Johri and stick to it. I don’t want to see anymore players going back and forth, back and forth. I’m going to have to sit on the fence for this one, it could turn out great for everybody, or it could be another guy getting lost in between positions and never growing into any one position. Either way, they really needed another body at RB.

Like I said before, Johri is in a tough spot ...
… but I’m assuming that TB is his first love and, given the lack of depth, I have to imagine that he’ll get some substantial PT this year on the O.
"Greed is Good."
So is Rudy.
Yeah...
…who wouldn’t want to tote the rock?! But then again if he’s just going to ride the pine, I don’t know if it’s such a great move.

Got to agree
It would be really hard to turn down an opportunity to run for a touchdown in Husky Stadium, just don’t like players bouncing back and forth.
"Bow Down to Washington"
"Kick the tires and light the fires!"
Agree 100%
I will also sit the fence on this one…if I was given the chance to start or be 2nd-3rd string, I would probably take starting. Maybe Batts is just that good that he was going to lose his spot…I dont know. At least he is willing to make a move to help the team, have to respect that.
I'm betting on Wells
Unless Jason Wells gets re-injured, I fully expect him to start and to have a great year.

Wells is probably the best safety on the roster.
But he’s had two major injuries and missed a year and a half of football.
I hate to say it, but I don’t think you can count on him playing anywhere near as well as he can this season. I really hope he proves me wrong, though. That would be a huge addition to the defense – almost as big as Savannah.

There has been mention of bringing back the “Say Who” chant…being young to the UW atheletics family I had to look it up and found this….
"You also don’t see enough emotion from them when they come out of the tunnel," continued Meamber. "That tunnel is hallowed, sacred ground. I don’t care if what I’m saying is politically incorrect. They did away with the `Say Who’ chant several years ago because it was considered too profane. Well, I don’t care if the players have to run 10 (expletive) 100s, the `Say Who’ chant has got to come back! It starts with that chant, it’s Husky tradition. I don’t care if the University President tells them to stop it, they’ve got to get that intensity back! I don’t care what the sanctions are. That chant and that mentality gets you jacked up, it intimidates the opponent. The whole tunnel echoes with that chant. Who cares what the non-football people say. Get it done!" – Tim Meamber http://washington.scout.com/2/681389.html
That maybe one of the greatest paragraphs I have read in a long time. This is EXACTLY what we need from our Defense. Holt will bring this back. By the way if anyone can explain the chant in more detail I would greatly appreciate that too.
I can't believe I can't remember this.
I think it went
Say who (Who!)
Say Dawgs (Dawgs!)
Say who say Dawgs are bad motherf***ers!
Actually, I don’t think that’s exactly right, but it’s something like that. It’s been like 12 years since I was a student, and it’s not entirely impossible that somebody slipped alcohol into my orange juice prior to attending the games.
If the team can't say it...
…then the fans should chant it as the teams are coming out of the tunnel? Now that would be fun!

Check out Sark’s website. The “Defense” playbook has the chant on it! It also has a pack of ferocious DAWGS on the cover. If the Defense can just have the mindset that “we are those DAWGS!”

That cover is sick...
Furious Dawgs on the cover looking like they just want to devour you.
agree with lear
I hope this is not another Reggie Davis, Spencer Marona type of move.
I stuck my neck out...
a long time ago for this move.
I really hope that it works out, not for me, but for what I’ve judged as natural talent.
It's worthless, I admit
Just a random stream of consciousness last night when I was tired.
What I was referring to is that I’ve advocated several times on this site (not that I’d expect you to know or remember) for Johri to get a chance at the position he was recruited for. He may not be the punisher his brother is reputed to be, or have great breakaway speed, but I saw in his high school performance the kind of ability for changing speed and hitting a crease that can’t be coached. If he indeed has what I think with his added bulk and strength, I could even envision him in style as a young Shawn Alexander.
And to be frank, I didn’t see anything in him last season that suggested the instincts necessary for D-1 defense. Sorry.
So I hope that I’m right, and I’ll try to be more lucid when using blog space in the future.
He seems...
…to have slimmed down a bit, according to the precamp roster. He’s listed at 6’1" 191. I don’t think those numbers matter too much. We’ll just have to see how the competition shakes out.

THE TUNNEL IS HALLOWED, SACRED GROUND!!!
Tyrone Willingham…destroyer of programs is the person who outlawed the “Say Who” chant as “Not Polictically Correct”. TW considered the “Say Who” chant demeaning. Sundodger…did the chant go like…
Say Who !!!
Say What !!!
Say Dawgs (Dawgs!)
Say who, say what, say Dawgs are bad motherf***ers !!!
The move is not on a whim
Steve Sarkisian has a blueprint of how the offense will run. On the flip side Nick Holt has been putting together productive defensive schemes to match the personnel we currently have.
Fogerson was probably considered expendible from the defensive backfield in regards to Holt’s plans. A need of depth was needed at RB, where both Sark and Holt came to an agreement that the switch to offense would work.
I see Polk and Fogerson doing a lot of platooning in the backfield. It would offer each a good blow. We don’t need Polk getting fatiqued and I’m not sure he is a 20 carry guy. I see him getting 12 to 15 carries per game and being active in the passing game. Fogerson could be the big load guy at TB and I’m confident the dude relishes in the decision to carry the rock.
All I saw was purple
You really think he steps in as second string?
He’s a banger, but the Dawgs already have one of those (Bronson) with a little more speed.
Not that it means anything, but Fogerson was behind a number of guys on the depth chart before he was moved to safety.
Banger: It fits
You mentioned “banger” and that could translate to “durable”. And durable is good at that position. Nope, I think Fog steps into the No.3 spot, but it’s one injury away from seeing a lot of playing time. Is their really much difference in being the back up to the No.3 guy? Talent wise their could be a huge difference, but when your No.3 guy is a banger and very durable he begins to look pretty impressive in live action.
Polk and Bronson will see a lot of field, but I think their is a good chance that Fog gets in on the action. Not because of injury, but because he could be a specialist.
All I saw was purple
I would bet...
…that he was asked to move and he accepted.

At press conference today:
(per Bob Condotta) “Sarkisian said the move of Johri Fogerson to tailback was due to depth issues at that spot as well as a desire of Fogerson’s to want to play that position again…”
He also mentioned...
…the addition of Batts. Fogerson wanted to get his shot at tailback.
