Ron Judd weighs in on Apple Cup

Ron Judd (no relation to Ashley, Wynona, and Naomi) may be one of the best sports writers in Seattle a football fan has never heard of. Ron specializes in the hiking, the outdoors, and Olympic category sports. Every once in awhile he ventures into the mainstream.

Top 10 Impacts of Apple Cup Game Moving Permanently to Qwest Field:

I don't think Ron is a WSU type of guy...just guessing.

Is it really

that much more cash to UW?

1. Bold public statement about the true purpose of the student athlete: Cash in athletic department tills.

I don’t think it is that much more cash when they play at Husky Stadium for UW. It is certainly a lot more for both schools when when they play at Martin Stadium.,

That's true

I think it’s turned into a political situation at this point in time, we could start the rumor the that this is First and Goal’s (Paul Allen…noted coug) way of putting a monkey wrench into the intent SB 6116.

Allen

Not sure if I would label Allen a Coug even though he spent time there. I also don’t think he would mind UW playing at Qwest seven times a year.

Too bad

the bimbo (Babs) didn’t take Allen’s offer on upgrading the stadium when it was made. None of this conversation would be happening.

I think Allen is a coug like my daughter was a coug, they both spent more time in Husky stadium growing up than they spent in Martin while at school.

Off to Vegas for three nights, back Thursday, can’t miss the Spring game

If I remember correctly

Paul Allen is one of the top 3 or 4 donors to UW. I’m pretty sure the computer science building is named after him. I think another building he named after his mother…?

Anyway, he’s a Husky for life as far as I’m concerned, regardless of whether he has major investments in athletics or obvious business motivations to get the team into Qwest.

Paul Allen

also paid for the extension to the Suzallo Libray, in honor of his father who was the #2 librarian when i was at UW. t
