Beavers invade Hec Ed

Oregon State pulls into Hec Ed tonight in search of an upset that probably isn't going to happen. I may or may not get to watch this one tonight depending on what we are doing and which bar we are at. Such are the hard choices we all have to make on vacation.

GO DAWGS!!

Beat the Bark Rats!

To beat these guys soundly we need to dial up the second half down in Corvalis. The Huskies exploded offensively and could not be stopped. There was a lot of fast break and inside penetration, outside shots were falling and the defense was pretty good too.

Great looking DAWG!!!

Quick question though…why not get a real Husky as opposed to a Malaute (sp?).

Well I've heard that the main reason is...

…that actual Huskies are too keyed up to be a good dog around crowds of people. Obviously not a good mix for a Husky mascot.

Demarcus Cousins

For anybody who doesn’t follow recruiting that closely or hasn’t yet heard, Demarcus Cousins (Scout.com’s #6 overall prospect, Rivals.com #2) has announced that UAB is no longer in consideration (he had previously given them a soft verbal). He has whittled his schools down to 5, and you guessed it, UW is one of them. From reading the articles, it sounds like Memphis is his #1 right now, with UW his #2. From what I’ve read, education is important to him, so maybe that will give us a leg up on them when it comes time for him to sign.

This would be a huge get for the program. It would give the Huskies one of the best, perhaps even the best recruiting class. It might also make next year’s team the favorite to win the Pac-10, and would provide a nice intermediary between Brockman and Josh Smith (hopefully).

Also

Could you imagine if Cousin’s isn’t a one-and-done and Josh Smith signs with us? That’s a national title calibur team combining those two up front with Abdul Gaddy and Isaiah Thomas in the backcourt. Exciting stuff. Not to say that this year’s team isn’t exciting though.

Romar

also took a visit to alabama to watch cousins play this past week. this is some exciting news! hopefully he can line up visit here sometime soon.

Agreed

We gotta get him on campus. It sucks that we have to recruit against Calipari though; he’s about as sleazy as they come. However, we have some big advantages:
Pac 10 > Conference USA
Education
Seattle > Memphis
And I’d have to think that if you’re a young African American kid, wouldn’t you rather play for a guy like Lorenzo Romar who you can more easily relate to? Cousins wanted to play for Mike Davis, so the race may be a factor that works in our favor.

which bar?

John, I’m disappointed in you. I had you figured as a guy who frequents the reading room at the local library.

Ya that's me!

Totally out of character to finde me at a bar.

Oh well a guy has to...

…try to “think outside the box” to use a much overused cliche. Right John? ;O)

outside the box?

Check out his recipe page. I’ve only tried the Ezell’s fried chicken recipe, which would have been fantastic had I used a calculator to convert temperatures instead of my head. A lot of the others sound pretty tasty as well and now that I can finally get the ingredients, I plan on trying several more.

Huskies sign new member to the 2009 class

Jordan Wallace has apparently signed with the University of Washington.
